I didn't want to derail your thread compiling info for your sticky post (wow, that was a mouthful), but I wondering...
What about those of us in the US who are looking for good international stores to purchase from. Y'know, Dorcel titles or GGG titles. Wouldn't we want to discuss those things in this forum? Would another list for that purpose be warranted? I personally trade a lot with folks in Europe and I'm still trying to find good European stores to purcahse from.
aybesea, I think that's potentially a good idea and I would like to move forward with it, but I'd like to garner a few more responses on the other thread first, which would also give me a little time to do some research into what you're saying.
I know you and others have some expertise on that subject and I would like to get it down in a thread. I think it is a relevant international shopping issue and I'm more than happy for it to be discussed, but I'm curious as to the number of Americans who visit this part of the forums.
It's possible that such a thread might be better served in the main Shopping Info forum, but I'm more than happy to have it here (I don't think scipio will mind either ). Anyhow, we'll see what we can do. Such a topic does deserve a constant thread for discussion.

rieekan,
I visit here on a regualr basis (not daily).
However to comment on aybesea's suggestion, I would have no input because I have not yet ordered from overseas.
Thanks for the feedback Don, menace. I think it's a worthy thing to do and as it seems the other thread has garnered what I'm guessing is the majority of its responses (from the int'nl regulars), I'd be happy to start it up.
The only question is your place (well, Steph's shopping info forum) or mine? It'd be an advantage too if we could have input from knowledgeable persons. I'm pretty sure Bill has extensive international ordering experience.

Rieekan, For me, this forum seems like the logical place. We are still going to discuss int’l shopping, after all. The only difference is that Americans will be comparing notes on buying from outside the US (instead of vice-versa). Plus the experienced int’l shoppers post here & they will be a primary source of help.

rieekan,
Because of the answer you gave me when I asked why you moved that one thread before, for the exposure it might be best in the US shopping forum.
Another possibility is to post a notice in the US forum with a link to the Internationsl one so you can garner responses from those that might not come to this one. Of course you would need to check with steph so you don't run into a cross-posting situation.
Logically, it would seem that an international transaction is an international transaction, regardless of direction. But I'm not stuck on that answer. I just think the info would really benefit a lot of us that don't confine our shopping to the U.S. of A.!
I agree totally. I'm just wondering if locating the thread here means it will only be read by the Americans who attend to this forum, and won't be read by Americans who automatically skip over it. The latter might not then learn about their options for buying from foreign stores.
But we'll see how we go. The new thread should be up in a few minutes.
