Hello I have browsed this site every once in-awhile ever since it started or at least when i saw info about it from dvdtalk.com a LONG time ago but never posted before...

Anyway has anyone seen purchased this book101 Nights of Grrreat Sex (sounds more of a activity book) it sounds like fun but I'm wondering if the things in it are stupid. extremely mild or what? Me and my wife experiment a little have tied each other up a few times. have a few toys for her dildo and anal probe. Just curious how adventurous the book is I'm not worried it will be too wild because we can always just not do it but I don't want it to be on the really mild side either any help would be appreciated thanks!

I haven't seen that one, but there are 89 reviews on amazon.com, some of them spilling the beans about what the activities are.

For example, one reviewer says that for women the ideas are simple and cheap (a hot tea blowjob or an oiled up body), while for men the ideas require nights in B&B's and beautifully wrapped gifts.

The average rating was 3.5 stars out of 5, it looked to me like people either loved it or hated it.

I have listed some books that I liked on the Sex Talk FAQ. Once you go to amazon and search for one, many suggestions for similar books are displayed, which really lets you track down stuff that suits you best.

Tricks to Please a Woman by Jay Wiseman looks interesting. His previous books of sex tips were a bit confusing as they mingled tips for men with tips for women, but they were good suggestions. His Tricks to Please a Man is due out in October.

Jay's tips are not about rose petals and diamonds. Here's a sample one from his S&M book SM101 :

Oh, yum...

Welcome KT99--glad you decided to join the posting ranks!

My wife and I bought this book a few years ago.

I think my wife liked it better than I did... and even then, I think she liked the IDEA of it better than what it actually was. The thing is... it might have some interesting ideas here and there, but well--it was geared for a different audience than we were. It seems like its purpose is to spice up sex for those who've found that things have become rote or average. Even more so, though, it seems like the book is meant to help couples who have trouble communicating with each other. At times, I even interpretted it as a book that was trying to tell us what we SHOULD be doing as a couple, and the problem I found was that the book made many suppositions, especially about gender roles and the ideals of the "traditional couple" that I just found rather distasteful.

My wife and I have an extremely strong and well developed relationship--we know what we like, and we know what's important to us. If there's any doubt about it, we have no problem communicating those concerns with the other. To me, this book, as well as the 101 Nights of Romance (or whatever the sister book was, which actually I found MUCH more interesting than the Great Sex book) was too much of a relationships 101 cirriculum, when my wife and I had already progressed well beyond it.

We used them for some ideas--but rarely, if ever, did we actually follow the instructions and execute the scenerios presented.

Anyway, that's just MY take... and with a book like this, I'm sure different couples will get different things out of it. For some it might be perfect, I suppose. And again, my wife might have a different take. Your mileage may vary. :) Like I said, the 101 Nights of Romance was much more interesting to me, but again, it was just an idea stimulator more than anything else.

Don't know if that helps.

Now I'm interested in taking a gander at the book Lindi quoted, though.... :)

Hahaha i remember that book its totally silly!!!! There is a section in the book where the guy is suppose to chase the girl around the house or something like that. I wouldn't spend money on that book! Better off with Joy of Sex or something like that lol! Hmm Mylons i didn't know they had a romance version i would love to check that one out!

Here's the 101 Nights of Great Romance book. Like I said, I don't think either of them are worth the money charged for what they offer, but I did find the Romance one much more interesting.
