I don't know if I would call them misleading because maybe to some people they make complete sense. Most of them make very little sense to me and their use even less so. I'm an old fart who thinks language is important and I would rather see people use words to express themselves than have to figure WTF a tiny emoji means or God Forbid a F...g grouping of emojis that mean one thing alone but something different when put together.

As for that Nia Nacci tweet. It's hard to tell what she meant because she literally use seven words that should mean something very specific but didn't add anything after that to put them in context so they can mean soothing else. I think it's more of a question of getting screwed over but like you said. The emoji she picked makes no sense if that's the case. Maybe she picked the one that looks like a pissed off person but didn't realise that it means triumph.
