Just based on the names of some of the girls I remember as looking like they'd be really great fucks -- Karina Kay, Dani Woodward, Penny Flame, Jasmine Byrne, Sunny Lane, Nyomi Marcella, Jenna Haze, Taryn Thomas, Nautica Thorn, to name a few -- I figured that somewhere around 2006 would be a good guess for what for me would be the high point of porn. So I went to IAFD and starting calling up some names. Boy, did I hit the nail on the head. By the time I was through, I'd come up with a list of almost 150 performers that either are on my list of favorites or seem to have been quite popular among other ADTers and whom IAFD listed as active in 2006. Most are American, or European girls who shot for American companies; I've included a few other Europeans I happen to like who shot scenes mainly in Europe. A few of caveats: There are lots of people I didn't check whom many of you would. I'm not much of a fan of large-breasted blondes, for example, and there are some girls who have done a lot of work in features and through studios that I haven't kept up with. IAFD may be wrong on some of the dates. IAFD includes hiatus years in a career, so, for example, I'm not sure whether Chloe Nicole, Kylie Ireland, or Julia Ann was active in 2006. A performer may have retired before 2006, but her listing may include compilations that have scene scenes originally released before she retired. Still, even allowing for any such issues, it's a pretty impressive list. What's interesting to me is that, while many of us can't exactly match the name of some hottie we were enamored with 18 months ago when she was doing five web scenes before retiring, most of people here who've been watching porn for a few years will, I think, recignize most of these names. Production value was pretty high and the money seemed to be relatively good with fewer options for performers, so we had a golden era of super hot girls willing to do unspeakably slutty things on camera.
