I'm going to attend the AVN adult Fan Expo in January in Las Vegas. Question for those of you guys that have attend in the past. Is it worth it? Should I get a VIP pass for all 4 days for $250. Or should just a general admission for $55 per day? For the VIP pass they say you get a gift package, what exactly is in that gift package? VIP passes get you early admission and separate enterance. Also what are your experiences? Do you have to pay extra to autographs from your favorite pornstar? I wish to meet Riley Reid, Lana Rhoades, Anya Olsen, Adriana Chechik, Aidra Fox, Veronica Rodriguez, Charity Crawford, Arielle Faye, Keisha Grey, Elsa Jean, Piper Perri, Marley Brinx, Naomi Woods.
Thanks in advance for you help.

I would say the VIP package is not worth it. Many times the girls are not even there the first hour. Most don't charge unlike at Exxxotica. It's when guys plop down 20+photos that things change usually. There always seems to be a few guys with 20+ photos for 1 girl. I'm actually surprised there is that big of a resale market.

I did the VIP package when I went and I remember thinking it was not worth it. Some days we barely attended and the gift bag had t-shirts and an Evil Angel spongey ball, and other stuff. Nothing terribly impressive. It was nice skipping the line, though.

Meh! There have been plenty of horror stories about how big of a cluster fuck the whole thing is. And, besides the stories I've read, I've heard from a few industry people in attendance who haven't been overly thrilled with the overall operation. Not only that, I've been there in an official capacity a couple of years and you'll find that it becomes a just another convention first and foremost with not a lot of craziness going on. If you've never been, it's a bucket list type of thing to go to once unless you're a hardcore fan then you might want to go more. Believe you me, the novelty wears off quickly. Plus there is no guarantee that any of those particular girls will be there if they haven't been nominated. Or if they are, they might not be there when you have your early admission/line pass, so you'd be just milling around with the other attendees. My highest of highpoints besides escorting/body guarding (term used loosely) a few big names was getting to break bread at Mark Speigler's table the last time I went. That my friend, was truly a site to see as all the biggest players in the industry came over to say hello to him as the table was packed with all of his stars. Being surrounded by a who's who of porn not in character is an interesting place to be and you'll have to have something interesting to say if a porn star wants to talk about something other than porn. My highlight that night was talking about Peter Sellers movies with the very lovely now retired Ava Dalush. Also had Sarah Shevon to my immediate right and she can talk up a storm.
So to get back on point, my suggestion would be: skip the VIP and save some $. if you're within driving distance, go for one day pref Friday as everyone will be there by then and won't be cutting out early to get ready for the awards show. This will give you a feel for the whole event. Plus some performers will be feature dancing later on that night at some of the clubs. Or if you go on Sat, skip the awards show itself, (think long, drawn out, and boring) as there a ton of categories and just watch the red carpet out front.

Hey,
Thanks for the insight.
I am flying in from New York and this is a bucket list thing for me to do, so yes I am doing all 4 days. General admission is $55/day. VIP for all 4 days is $250, early access and beat the lines and VIP after parties also the AVN awards show after party (not the same as private suite party). I think $30 more may be worth it. However, something tells me the private suite party ($450) there are plenty of nude pornstars and nude stage performances and open bar. Does anyone know if this is true?
Also, I saw last year on black Friday AVN offered a %20 discount on VIP tickets. So may wait to see if they do the same this year.

I see plenty of pornstar autographed photos on sale on ebay and I don't see any bids on them. If some are sold they are sold for very little. So I don't know why someone would like to get 20 autographs of 1 star?

VIP tickets in hand cause if you want to see a certain girl she may run out of pics c'mon wicked pictures lol $20 is the most I've ever spent but that came with a DVD and autograph pic but $10 if they charged for 8x10 autographed pics
On a serious note tho traveling bros I plan on taking a lot of DVD covers to get signed how awkward is taking your cover collection with you I plan on having them in a laptop carrying case

What's your major dude!?

I'd actually suggest just bringing the covers themselves and not the actual DVDs, unless you're trying to get the performers to sign the actual DVD too). Takes up less space and you don't have to worry about them breaking/getting lost while you carry the bag around.
As far as VIP, no, it's not worth it even if you're going all 4 days. The majority of performers will have signing schedules, and there's no guarantee that their schedule will include that first VIP hour (or if it does, it'll only be for one day). In fact, going all 4 days isn't worth it either. Going on Saturday especially is not worth it at all. Like Roscoe said, it's shorter hours and most of the performers leave early to get ready for the awards show.
And quick rule of thumb in terms of charging is that unless you go crazy with the requests, anyone signing for a production company almost definitely won't be charging, anyone signing for their agency is probably not charging but some will, but anyone signing outside of that there's about a 50/50 chance that they will (especially if you ask them to sign any more than one thing).
