I have been told two different things about complying with 2257. One is that there needs to be a formal place where records must be kept and an actual address for those records. The other is that requests for record information can be made thru a webmaster, with no publication of the actual address needed. My understanding of the rule is that there has to be an actual published address of the place where records are kept. Can any of you great minds out there help me with this??

Thank-you Steph. That's sort of what I thought. Thanks again.

Actually, it has to be YOUR principle place of business not just an address. Its where you receive your mail, get phone calls, faxes, sit at a desk, have meetings, ect.
Once again, if you're going to produce porn, even a small little solo site out of your house, get a lawyer.

I agree, and it pays to get a lawyer that has knowledge of 2257. I'd guess 99% of lawyers don't know a thing about it. It will be cheaper to hire an attorney with experience in the area than to pay by the hour for a lawyer to learn the 2257 requirements.
One of the reasons we don't display any sex acts on this website is due to the excessive burdens of 2257.

There's actually only a handful of adult entertainment/First Amendment attorneys that will have any knowledge of 2257. I would say there's only about 50-100 in the US. Asking your lawyer to learn would cost thousands and then I would question how well he/she could learn it in a short amount of time.
Just keep in mind topless pics do not require 2257.
