I usually don't post on this part of the forum, but for all you old school feature lovers, I might have a cool dvd of interest for you. A small genre company, Synapse Films, in the relatively mainstream dvd world which normally releases cult, euro-cult and the occasional classic dvd (Triumph of the Will) has been putting out a great series of trailer comps in the last year, but they put one out this spring that surely would appeal to some folks on here. All of the comps are titled 42nd Street Forever, but the one in question is the XXX-treme Special Edition. It contains classic porn trailers (cumshots and everything) and is pretty interesting.
Included Trailers:
Alexandra
All American Girls
Beverly Hills Cox
Beyond Desire
Blonde Ambition
Blonde Heat
Burlexxx
Coming Together
Debbie Does 'Em All
Debbie Does Dallas III
Desire
Devil In Miss Jones III
Devil In Miss Jones IV
Dracula Exotica
"F"
Fascination
For Services Rendered
Girls On Fire
G-Strings
Heart Throbs
Hot Blooded
Hot Lips
I Want To Be Bad
Making It Big
Matinee Idol
Naked Scents
Nasty Girls
Nothing To Hide
The Oddest Couple
Oriental Jade
Passage Thru Pamela
The Ribald Tales Of Canterbury
Scandalous Simone
Scheherazade: 1001 Erotic Nights
Sensations
Showgirls
Skin Tight
Slip Into Silk
Supergirls Do General Hospital
Supergirls Do The Navy
Surrender In Paradise
Tickled Pink
Tight And Tender
Trashy Lady
Ultra Flesh
This one caught me off guard because on their 1st comp., there were a couple of non-hardcore trailers for porn films (The Candy Girls is the one I remember). The great thing about these releases is how entertaining and cheesy most of the trailers are, but the hardcore nature of this one was unexpected and caught me off guard. The release has lots of John Holmes, Angel, some Amber Lynn, Ginger Lynn, some Seka if I remember correctly. Anyway, I figured I would tell you guys about it, because you might enjoy checking it out.

42nd st. back in the day was beyond comprehension. Porn was just a sideline.

I have no doubt. I've heard it was a skeezy place. This series of releases are all trailer comps, with 2 other ones in current release (1 on the way). They are all about exploitation, sexploitation, etc. and are really great. The best is the first release with 3 Christina Lindberg (my favorite exploitation/sexploitation cult actress). I only mentioned this one, since it applies to this crowd more than the other ones.

The case says 130 minutes, though it might be a little longer or shorter. I'll have to check later.

The first two Volumes of "42nd Street Forever" are fantastic, though non-pornographic. I love trailer compilations, particularly of films that are not yet available on DVD. The first two volumes were dedicated to B-movies (sexploitation, horror, campy, etc.,) like "The Green Slime", "Destroy All Monsters" and "Shocking Asia", but some obscurities definately stand out ("I Dismember Mama" and "The Blood-Spattered Bride").
My favorite is for the "Ginger" movies (not THAT Ginger!). I have all three of those movies and I can tell you that everything worth seeing exists in the trailers.
Also, beware of anything with a title starting in "42nd Street" but not produced by Synapse films. I just rented and watched "42nd St Pete's 8mm Madness!" put out by a company called AFTER HOURS. It is porn but deatures this idiot named PETE who introduces you to "Forgotten 8mm Stags From The 50's and 60's." They are introduced to 8mm loops which were sold under the counter in adult bookstores or by shady peddlers. Selling or possessing them was a crime back in the day. The loops usually came in white boxes, black & white was one price, color was a higher price. A film like this could cost $20 to $100 per loop...and that's '60s and '70s money! And you never knew what you were getting. Later the loops would be labeled with names like Pretty Girls, Golden Girls, etc. Most of these loops had no titles, as after repeated playing, the film would get word and simply break off. --- They would just start with hardcore sex or get down to it after a minute or so of plot. Common plots were doctor/patient, boss/secretary, hitchhikers being picked up, etc., with some darker plots showcasing hardcore S&M, bondage, and other twisted shit.
There is also another called "42nd Street Pete's Busty Stag Collection: 8mm Madness Part IV" put out by Secret Key Motion Pictures.
The Bottom line is to beware of the cheap ripoffs. The Synapse films are edited, chaptered, sound decent and are well worth a space on your shelf. I can say from personal experience, they are a hoot at bachelor parties, card games and tea parties.

It's actually about 140 minutes. I like this too. Synapse has dabbled in a couple of other hard core releases as well and every disk that I've seen of theirs is of top notch quality. I'm going to look into that one with the Christina Lindberg trailers. I would also recommend the comparable Smut Palace Insanity classic porn trailer compilation.

I have this one on order and already have Smut Palace Insanity, which is quite a bit of fun.
Synapse also put out a beautiful release of Radley Metzger's THE IMAGE which may be the best hardcore feature ever. It is on the line as far as xxx but I think it qualifies as it not only has lots of SM and peeing, but also clearly visible blowjobs (no pentration though).

Not to pimp for a sales site and I hope this is kosher, but those comps, The Image, Christina Lindberg's Thriller: A Cruel Picture (also known as They Call Her One Eye), etc. are all on sale for 46% off through the 22nd Oct. at Deepdiscount.com. I am in no way affiliated with them or Synapse, just like to direct people to good stuff.
