phaedrus Member 288 Posts 12/08	Posted - Feb 14 2017 : 12:21PM I watch porn almost exclusively on my television sets from files I put on flash drives and I came to find out last year that neither my generic BestBuy set when plugging into the USB port on the back of the set or my 3 year old LG Blue Ray Player with a USB port connected to that BestBuy set will play 4K files. Neither will my 2 year old late model 1080p Samsung Smart television when I plug the flash drive into the back of that set. So this year I am going to gift myself a 4K set which I presume with it's USB ports will allow me to play 4k porn. One of the files for example says 2160p MP4 Video (.mp4) data rate 22620kbps total bitrate 22905kbps. So my question is if I go into BestBuy and bring in a flash drive with say a test file from this page: https://www.google.com/#safe=off&q=download+a+4k+uhd+file+to+test+on+tv will anyone of these test files that I grab from this page will they be sufficient enough to inform me that YES the set that I plan on buying will indeed now allow me to play the 4k porn files that I have when I plug them into the USB ports in back of the set? Jacco Click to expand I have tried both USB 2.0 and 3.0. I do not think that it is the flash drive that contains the 4K file but rather the Samsung TV, the BestBuy generic model as well as the BlueRay player do not have the ability to process the encode that is used with a 4K file. It is just not a format that these devices are familiar with which leads me to believe that only a 4K set will recognize a 4K file. [Link]

USB directly to BestBuyTV USB to BluRayPlayer to BestBuyTV USB directly to SamsungTV You can look up the specifications of your 3 devices and see what video formats it is capable of playing. [Link]

No HDTV can decode a 4K video file, let alone many HD video files, and many UHDTVs cannot play all 4K video files. If you want to play 4K vids, get either an Android media box or an HTPC with appropriate 4K support, both of which can play back a wide variety of 4K files. [Link]

That is what I thought all along and what I thought I found out when I first encountered the problem which is my reason for getting the 4K set. What about my theory of going to the GOOGLE search page I listed in my previous post https://www.google.com/#safe=off&q=download+a+4k+uhd+file+to+test+on+tv and downloading a whole bunch of test sample 4K files from different sites and seeing if I have any trouble playing them on the 4K set of my choice when I plug in my flash drive to the back of the TV at the store. That should at least give me a good indication that the set can play 4K files and logically should be able to play the 4K porn files. [Link]

Almost every 2016-present ultra hdtv's have full smart features + extensive media playback that covers everything offered by current android and portable turnkey htpc alternatives. My tv has usb 2+3 but 2TB hdd connected via usb 2.0 using the inbuilt media player on the tv i have had no trouble playing 4K files both H264 and H.265 (HEVC) If your ultra hdtv has a fast enough processor with hevc support up to 4k the only advantages vs. playing digital video files via mediabox or htpc running kodi is of course loads more features/easier to browse large drives and instantly resume vids.
