Hey, I was just browsing around and ran into a rumor that I'd heard some time ago, and was wondering if anyone might be able to set the record straight one way or the other.

Anyone know if 80's pop star Stacey Q ever did porn? Apparently, David Letterman made a joke about it in his monologue at one point so that must have been when she had some popularity going. Based on that I'd say it would have been in the 80's sometime. I have no idea what name she would have used, but it likely would not have included "Stacey" as her real name is apparently Stacey Lynn Swain. May be a longshot, but I figured if anyone knows then this would be the place to ask.

I remember seeing on VH1 about 80's pop stars and they did a where are they now on Stacey Q. It seems she still puts out albums every once in a while, but she was deeply into Buddhism. She talked about concentrating on that alone. Good for her, I guess. I don't know if she did porn on the side to pay the bills tho. I doubt it.

Don't even ask why I was watching that show. Seems I will watch anything under certain 'conditions.'

I know what you mean, Redish, re: watching anything under the right circumstances. (I think of that scene in "Fight Club" where Edward Norton is suffering from insomnia and "watching" infomercials). Anyway, I too kind of doubt the rumor, but thought it would have been interesting. If she was in a movie in the mid to late eighties I may have seen it without realizing who she was!

She did appear nude in one of her videos. I have no clue which one, but there was a tape of "unrated" videos that i saw once and she was on there. Traci Lords was also in one by some hair-metal band.

I'm not dure if this is the source of the rumors, but it was definitely not porn, just videos with nudity.

Glad to help, Vodka Tonic. Despite the fact that I've never been too much of a "pop music" fan, that is indeed one of those songs that stuck in your head when you heard it. I do miss the 80's sometimes.

On a somehwat random note...I never realized how tiny Stacey Q was. According to her website, she is 5'2" and 95 lbs. Petite!

Thanks for the info., Occupant. (Hey, I keep getting your mail!) The rumor may have started from that for all I know. Seems almost likely considering how rumor-mongers operate.
