Ideally people would buy from the former and shun the latter, but it doesn't happen that way. Hopefully the quality studios make enough money to keep going, and use pride in their product as part of their mission (along with profit).

I purchased Taboo Part one and the clearness of the dvd was excellent. They must have had a real good master to pull a dvd from it. Three faces of Angel: Ok, not as clear, but I left good feedback with seller in light of the fact that they sell and do not make the dvds. I want to be fair. Debbie does em all: ok, average quality. My gripe I guess is this: Can the companies transferring these oldies to dvd use better equipment to enhance the quality or is it just not cost effective. Taboo was near perfect. I did not buy it for the theme but because of Kay Parker. I like her work. I just ordered A movie with Taija Rae, lovely sexy woman I adore. I saw that is was digitalized, but I don't know how well. Reflecting on movies like "Dirt Harry" " Robocop" which came out about the same time, these copies are just clearer! One actress starred in a movie that is xxx rated that has the incest theme in it. I don't even look to much at the theme just the sex. Knowing it's all fake, are companies pushing the envelope a bit too much on that theme. It's a fine line I will say. Is this "incest" movie stuff getting bigger? On video box they had Sibling or something like that, I did not watch or dL. Another I did bit just out of curiosity sake and the actors say we are not related. I mean if I like an actress enough and she does this, I will buy it, but if it gets out of hand, as in the companies push out more on the same actress I will stop buying and move to another actress. Just want to find out what is going on. I did combine two subjects in on thread, sorry about that. Not feeling to great. thanks for all input ahead of time and I wish u all well. | Flash Golden Age Classic 11018 Posts 5/01 | Posted - Mar 10 2015 : 9:36PM Some rundowns from companies that hit my head at the moment: Vinegar Syndrome puts out amazing classic releases. Standard Digital usually does decent ones. Caballero is very hit or miss. VCX/Cal Vista/Collector's has more misses than hits same with Arrow. Alpha Blue Archives has the rare decent one, most are horrible. Video-X-Pix/Distribpix many of their old releases were horrible, their newer ones are around Vinegar Syndrome quality. After Hours Cinema is hit or miss, usually better than Alpha Blue Archives. Synapse/Impulse has some good and bad ones. TVX were awful. VCA was okay/decent. Gourmet is awful. Mitchell Brothers is decent/better. These are just one ones that come to mind immediately. If you have overall questions on other companies, I and I am sure others here, can give a general feel for their releases. [Link] |
