Hello,

I was just thinking about how huge a impact the terrible events of sept. 11 must have had on the Adult Industry. Since so many other large industries have been so negatively impacted, It peaked my interest to find out from those people in the biz how large a effect it has had on VHS DVD sales and also events.

As we Americans run to our macaroni & cheese, pizza, beer, pork rinds and other comfort foods in these times of trouble, so too do we reach for the comfort of our porn. Sales will skyrocket, just you watch. Also, with the Afghan people throwing off the shackles of the radical fundamentalists, I assure you many newly shaven Afghan men will in droves be emulating their American liberators buy jerking off to porno on their couch in front of a brand new entertainment center.
So, be patriotic! Go out and rent an 'American Bukkake' today!

The current events could actually have a positive long term affect on the adult industry. Prior to 9/11, there were many concerns that we had an Attorney General who had nothing better to do than worry about what videos people wanted to watch.

He now has something more important to do.

I've talked to many of the retailers about this very topic. It turns out that business has slowed down a bit since 9/11. I think many people are distracted and watching CNN instead of their favorite porn princess.

It's hard to say if 9/11 is responsible for the flatlining of sales or if it's just a side effect of the slumping economy.

I haven't ordered anything from US stores recently, simply due to the problems with the postal system. No other reason.

Items I purchased from the US on eBay during September and October have taken over a month to arrive by Airmail, when the normal delivery times are 5-7 days. A couple of other packages went missing, so it isn't worth the hassle for me at the present time.

The Anthrax scare has only made things worse.

Inbound deliveries seem to be getting better. I had something sent from Spain last Monday and it arrived on the Friday of the same week.
