OK, I tried to google this question but well as you might guess it was not good results... so better to ask the experts
So the position is #69.... got that one down
Honestly what are the other 68? Is there an actual list and I would love to see them all demoed on dvd.. has anyone ever tried this on an "education" video?
It's not called the 69 because it's the 69th position, it's called that because it looks like a 69 when you do it. No reference to other sexual position is involved. Not a bad idea for a dvd though.
OK. Fair enough. Then my request would be a list of the positions available. I have heard of others... 1. doggie 2. cowboy 3. missionary
There must be a list of names that people who make these videos use for describing the positions.
Then the next step showing (in detail of course) these positions in action.
Someone must know... and hey maybe there are 69 of them. Them someone can assign the number to the position and produce an "official" list of positions. Hmmm. sounds like a hot idea for marketing a book or video of these positions... that everyone will of course want to try
Here's a video of 101 Love Positions. I haven't seen it, so I'm not recommending it or anything. There's plenty of stuff like that out there - it usually is 'instructional' rather than hot.
In fact, that's one problem with numbering and cataloguing positions - it becomes a competitive, left brain logic thing. The other problem is that there are only 5 or so basic positions. Spoon is much like doggie (rear entry) but without the leverage. But doggie has the same name whether he's on his knees or on his feet squatting (up-and-over) or standing. We still call it doggie when the woman is lying flat on her stomach, with his legs either inside hers or outside hers. Yet they are very different. Mish is still mish with her legs on his shoulders, or with a big pillow under her butt and her legs held out wide, but again, a different experience.
The kama sutra was said to have hundreds of positions, but they are all variants of a few (although there are some crazy ones too which are virtually un-doable, and some which can be done, but not enjoyably).
I've heard 'froggie' and I've heard 'prone position.' But we still call it doggie. Cuz, you're in doggie, then you are in a chest-lowered doggie, then you are in an even lower doggie, then a very, very low doggie, and then, ass down - where do you draw the line? Now that you are flat, presumably in froggie, if you raise your ass a few inches to push back into it, are you in doggie again, or in a raised froggie?
Now, when his legs move outside, I can see that being called froggie (though it's a flattened up-and-over doggie). Although, again, is it a different position if he is in 'froggie' and then hooks his arches over her heels to use as stirrups -- not very frog-like?
Wow that website was perfect. The position names were a little weird. I guess that is why there is no modern version... can't improve on the Kuma. Although "froggie" does not seem to be "a-courtin'" in those positions, but it might be post Kuma. Looks fun though. Although I did not mean to stir up debate. Looks like someone needs to "investigate" these positions and post the results.
