Things like: 1) Poor selection! Lots of the major VHS studios haven't joined the bandwagon yet... 2) Inflated prices! Gay DVD porn is overpriced by almost $20 compared to its straight counterparts... 3) Lousy extras! A couple publicity stills is just about all I've seen on most titles... Will these things improve? Do the laws of supply and demand come into play here too? Far to few quality gay titles and significant demand? It appears as though the market bears the price for most titles.  [Link] |

Adult DVD Talk at your service. 6409 Posts 11/99 | Posted - Nov 10 1999 : 12:13AM did you ever buy vhs? i took myself on a self guided tour of all the video shops in ny recently -and there was quite a bit of porn. the gay vhs flicks were all $60 - $90! that's pretty outrageous. maybe the gay guys get paid more than the straight guys? in straight flicks the chicks get paid much more than the guys (probably 'cause most of the guys aren't too hot.) so if looks = more money, then it makes sense that gay titles are more money. and now if you want to know why your water bill is $50 a month... Or is it that I was just too poor? Only now, with DVDs is there a medium really worth getting excited about. (Though my tech friends all say that it, too, could be much better...) [Link] |
