I have found some of favorites from your collection in the past, but lately I've been disappointed with your releases. My number one gripe which I'm sure many have is the dubbed voices. I can't get into any movie when I know that the actress's voice isn't real. It's terribly distracting! While many of the actresses are from all over Europe, the universal language of love (moans and such)is understood by all! With such gorgeous women, it's a pity to see them but not hear them. Until this is fixed, I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to get my fix.
I agree with you Earle , though this complaint could also apply to other European Studios . I'm sure it's difficult to deal with the problem of performers all speaking their own tongue . How about a two stage solution .
1) Find the most common language ( probably most normally French ) and get the main characters to speak in this language . If they struggle with it then make that a plot point , perhaps a girl set adrift in a foreign land where she can't understand what everyone wants of her .
2) Ask the performers who can't speak the common language to not speak during the sex scenes . Get them to channel their expressions and desires in a more physical or animalistic direction . They can still moan and whimper with the *universal language of love* as Earle so beautifully put it . Very few of the feature set sex scenes that I've witnessed need much talking anyway , in my opinion .
The whole film can then be subtitled into multiple languages whilst maintaining the original sound of the performers . That would keep the subtitles off screen during the sex ( too distracting ) but have them in-between to let us know what is happening , with the actors true voices in the background .

Yes the poor dubbing also bothers me too. I usually watch Private movies with the sound off anyways. hehe
But what I really don't like about recent Private releases is the use of & too much concentration on the elaborate costumes of the sex participants. This isn't a fashion show...it's PORN! There's like a red & green monster devil guy with these ugly horns fucking some nude hottie. It's a complete turn-off! If I wanna see a horror film, I'll go rent "The Exorcist" I just wanna see some good fuckin without any distractions. I guess it's too much to ask.
I'm not sure what happened to their video magazine, but I do recall seeing that horned man in the Last private movie I saw, which I think was the private life of jodie moore. Sorry, but no more Private for me. I actually happen to really be digging the platnum X movies...change of pace.

That's not really new from Private, they had all those old Woodman movies that were dubbed too.
The problem with Private for me, is that their lost their identity (identities if you consider the different lines under the Private label) as well as their best directors...
To me there are just a bland adult studio, targetting a more mainstream audience, a bit like Vivid I guess.
It's sad because I feel Private singlehandedly revolutionized porn in the early nineties. When I saw my first Private video I said WOW! And I was hooked, but not anymore.
They've lost it a couple of years back when Woodman, Lecastel, Thring and Tanya Hyde left the company.
