As a pro-am studio based on the East Coast having a hard time getting distribution what's a good way to get them interested in your product. It seems like every studio has distribution before releasing one tape, but ober here it's hard. Any advice?

I'm not looking for exclusive distribution regional would even help me.

Well you want to send out screener packages to as many distributors as possible, and the one who are interested will place an order. Or some companies do their own distribution you may want to talk to them and see if they are interested in distributing your product along with theirs.

Send out some screeners to the various review sites. If your product is good stuff the reviews will be positive. This will in turn create a little demand and get people asking for your stuff. Have you considered selling direct to a few of the online retailers?

Distribution is one of the hardest things to do. There are so many people putting out new product. I agree with the other comments - send out screeners to distributors that are established and see is you can made a distribution deal with someone!!

NJ is correct, but you need to give a distributor a reason to carry your line. At Black Widow Productions, we are mainly a distributor and distribute GGG and John Thompson from John Thompson Productions; British Lesbians Pissing, Vice Girls, UK Student House, DP Fantasies and Anal & DP from MSS Interactive; Kinky Wrinkly and Jose Pusher's Pimping Adventures. We are currently releasing two titles a week and are looking to increase to 4 titles per week. I get people submitting stuff to me every day, and most of it is crap. After reading all of the posts on ADT, I think our consumers are getting tired of the same old vanilla sex crap. We try and only distribute the edgier, niche products that are still legal (I don't want to go to jail!). Have you had professional filmmaking training? Do you know how to light a scene properly? Do you know how to edit and author properly? Does your cover grab attention yet not lie about the contents (the consumer may buy you one time, but will not repeat if your cover is awesome but you don't deliver in the content)? I would love to add new lines, but I don't need to add product that is just going to sit around my warehouse and gather dust. I need to know why your stuff is different than all the other crap that is coming out...what can you offer my consumers? All it takes is a few shit movies and a studios name can be drug into the mud, which is why we are careful about what we distribute. This isn't to say we haven't had a few stinkers, but our goal is to provide what our consumers want, and will pay for time after time. So bottom line, stop sending me emails about how great your product is, instead send me a screener so I can see if I get wood (my first test), and tell me why your product is better than what I already have! I am sorry if I sound a little negative, but I have watched so much stuff that makes my dick limp and I really need to bust my nutt!! lol
