Monopoly: Welcome to ADT! I think the most important thing for shaving is not to do it every day - and to use a lufa (sp?) on the in between days (that prevents ingrown hairs.) I always do it in a warm shower - though a bath would probably be better. I use the fat stemmed razor with the turqoise in the middle (do you know which one i'm talking about?) It has the double blades, flexible head and moisture strip. And I use neutrogena rainbath (which they now sell at costco ) I go with the grain and then against it. If a few hairs don't want to be shaven I pluck them instead of running the razor over the same spot too many times. I don't wear underwear after I shave (I find that causes irritation.) And I powder the area with regular baby powder. I'd love to hear other tips though. Sure would be nice if my boyfriend weren't afraid to do it for me
not from a woman's perspective, but i've know grabbing the electric shaver (face shaver) to keep the grass trim and down works great. it seems to get a closer shave on thicker hairs. this of course works best on stumble and won't help at all on longer hairs. which in turn works great if your trying to work in a design patch, stripe, etc. lastly my favorite idea behind it, is it keeps the sharp objects away from the more tender precious spots of the body. i would use it daily if you try it. i don't know anyone thats complained to bitterly about the shaving itch or cuts from using an electric (face shaver, not that hair shaver thing with the teeth on it. that could be painful).

I always shave in a warm/hot shower. I use a Gillette Sensor Excel men's razor. I seem to nick myself less in general with them. Like Steph, I always shave with the grain and then against the grain. I seem to have less irritation that way. I shave about every 3 days and change the shape of the hair left every few months. Although it sounds very tempting, I try not to have sex immediately after shaving because every time I do I get a rash from the friction. (Although it's always worth it!) Oh, how I wish I'd noticed this post earlier... All I can say is THANK GOD FOR THE MACH 3!!! I shave in the tub and it's very important not to get the water too hot. When the water is hot, your skin tends to swell and you don't get as close a shave. I also use Gilette shaving gel for sensative skin. I shave oppsosite to Steph... against the grain, then with it. It's important not to shave too frequently (once every 3rd or 4th day for me) as to avoid razor bumps. Another helful hint about those pesky bumps is to use baby powder immediately after shaving... make sure your skin is completely dry before you do, though, or you'll end up with white paste betwixt your legs... it also helps keep that oh so fresh feeling longer. xoxo Tina

I try not to go against the hairs too much. I have really sensitive skin. Actually, I've been waxing since last Christmas. Nothing like letting a complete stranger rip the hair out of your pussy! When I did shave: Gillette sensitive skin shaving cream, Slim Twin razor with Aloe strip, shave in the shower, rubbing alcohol after (it burns like hell, but opens pores), baby powder. Trish
O.K, update- Well, I did it. lol Surprised Saki and it was fun. The next day i shaved him which was even more fun! I did all the grain/against the grain, powder, things. Worked like a charm. RESULT! I have cracked the shaving of the pussy! After all the advice you all gave me I've discovered the best way to do it... First wash with a moisturising body wash and use the excess foam to shave with (twin blade, moisture strip razor) in a warm bath. Then when nice and dry use baby powder...use this every day as it keeps the itching away, even when it's growing back! Not wearing knickers does help a lot as it doesn't irritate your shaved bits. I've taken to shaving every 3-4 days as suggested and this does seem to work best otherwise you do get bad razor burn! Thanks for all the advice...finally itch free!
