Here is a study that makers of porn films might be interested in.
Apparently these scientists have found that men look at the woman's face more than at her pussy, tits, or ass. Which is a big hint as to what porn films should strive to show more of.

^^^ Aint that common knowlegde and therefore not newsworthy? Who wants to fuck or watch an ugly woman getting fucked? If you're suggesting that porn producers only hire the most beautiful girls to do porn then you have my full support. I pray the Octomum never takes up that Vivid movie offer!! Can any of you imagine her doing porn? Arrrgggghhh!

Perhaps you've misunderstood this study and its findings. In this study, the scientists tried to find out what parts of the woman's body men look at the most, when they are looking at porn pictures. Recent advances in video and computer technology have made it possible for scientists to detect the exact location in a porn picture where the person's gaze is focused on. It's called 'eye-tracking-technology'. And it does tell scientists on what part of the porn-picture the man's attention is focused on the most.
The woman's beauty or ugliness has nothing to do with this study. It's all about the focus of the man's attention when he looks at sexual pictures.
And if the findings of this study were common knowledge, as you suggest. Then why do so many porn films show lengthy close ups of the woman's body without showing her face at the same time?
Perhaps some male film directors know from their own personal experience that they want to see the woman's face during the sex-action. And they make that kind of porn films. But not everybody is aware like that. There are a lot of porn films out there that don't show the woman's face during most of the sex action on her.
Perhaps female porn film directors need to be especially aware of this study. Because according to that study, women focus their attention on porn pictures in a different way. And a female porn film director would end up making the porn film in a wrong way, if she follows her natural female instincts.

^^^ OK, I may not have read the article fully but still, the results of that observational study are open to anyone's interpretation. Without knowing the exact details of the study design and what the results mean, one cannot make any qualified deductions. I'd rather see the same study repeated but this time involving a larger sample size of porn consumers. If the results are reproduced, then it would certainly be worth recommending to adult studios to allocate more movie time to shooting a girls face during sex and see if that eventually translates to an increase in movie sales.

I would have to question the relevance of this articles' findings to traditional video porn. They used pictures, static images, to perform their studies. I know for the longest time as a teen that was really all I could access easily...Playboy, Penthouse, etc. Video brought out an entirely new dimension in porn for me. It really was sensory overload at first. I got all caught up in the movement of a womans breasts during sex and would FF through scenes until I found a position where I knew her boobs would be rocking in unison to the fucking. Or her ass and how it responded to being spanked, squeezed, etc during sex. Porn fed my already boob-and-ass fetish. And most studies show that men, in general, are attracted to breasts and ass, or more specifically a pleasing ratio of hips to waist (the classic hourglass figure) as they represent visual programming cues of reproductive readiness.
Facial attractiveness is certainly important, but as a man, I can get off looking at a very toned body with just a so-so face. Hell, half of POV porn, there isn't even a FACE shown except for the BJ scenes.
I'd say they should have done this study with motion/dynamic images. Not still pics. As it stands, it only applies to traditional static image-based porn.

Yes, the lady's face during her DP is something I also want to see. And not just the lady's ass-cheeks squeezed in between two hairy studs, the way it's usually shown.
Perhaps the best DP shot is where the lady looks back over her shoulder at the camera and at the ass-guy behind her. And you end up with a shot that shows both the DP action and the lady's face at the same time.
A roaming camera angle that goes from the lady's face and tits to her ass is also much better than the standard shot from the back showing mostly hairy butts of the guys.

This really got me thinking about my own reactions, and I agree that the woman's face is very important to me. I'm not sure what my standard of beauty is, but my enjoyment definitely depends on the woman having a pretty face. It seems to matter more than her personality, performance or the shape of her other body parts.
This is something that is very different in real life as compared to porn. When I get to know and like a woman in real life, her face becomes beautiful to me regardless of what my first superficial impression was. I guess there is not much chance to get beyond the superficial when watching porn.
Some examples of women whose lovely faces have made me go "Wow" over the years:
Nikki Charm
Missy Monroe
Cytherea
Bree Olson
Sharka Blue

The woman's face is what makes her look real and human to the man. It's pretty hard to relate to a woman in a meaningful way, when you don't see her face. Because without seeing her face you can't judge well her feelings, emotions, and whether she likes you or not.
The woman's face is considered so communicative and potentially tempting to men that in some cultures, the women are supposed to cover their faces in public in order to avoid tempting the men. It's like that in many Islamic cultures, especially in Saudi Arabia.
Which shows that there is some truth in that study I've mentioned above. Various cultures can exaggerate various human tendencies. But everybody has the same human tendencies to begin with, regardless of their culture.

They found that, did they? I had no idea it was lost. Seems pretty obvious to me.

Yes, I agree it's pretty obvious that the man really does need to see the woman's face a lot in any social interaction with her. A quick glance at her boobs and ass is enough to tell him whether he likes her or not. But once he knows that he likes her. Then watching her face is most important for him to succeed with her.
But this fact isn't so obvious when the interaction between the man and the woman is one-way only, the way it is in watching a porn film. And many porn films don't show much of the woman's face during the sex-action. Which means that some porn makers aren't fully aware just how important it is to show the woman's face to the guys watching her.
