I, for one, am with you though. Fever had some irritating aspects to it, but on the other hand, Italian Flair was freakin' awesome. I've heard good things about Gladiator 3 as well. I have Gladiator 2 in my posession. I haven't watched it yet, but a review will be coming soon. I've heard 3 is better, though
The visual tricks have to be carefully balanced, and I found Fever pretty distracting in that regard (I still found things to like about it though), so I hope that he's "returned to form" as you say, or at least has moved in a different or new direction that is more successful.
