Boxed dvd sets are hugely popular, especially tv shows (purchased one season at a time), or trilogies, such as Star Wars, etc. If the boxed sets were priced at a discount, this would entice customers to buy the entire series instead of cherry picking their favorite volumes. Imagine a Buttman Goes To Rio boxed set, or Anabolic's GBG boxed set, or Ass Worship boxed set. The mind (and dick) reels at the possibilities. Plus there is the buzz factor. If an adult video company decided to offer a boxed set,you can be sure some media outlets would carry the story, which would be great free publicity. I'm sure studios have considered this, though I have no idea what they haven't pushed forward with the idea. CC [Link]

Among the responses to box sets would be: 1. It's too high a price point for my store/market/locale. 2. I already have those titles as singles, why would I buy them again as a set. 3. You didn't put the right ones in the box set. Those two are dogs, and the real classics are.... 4. What else am I getting besides the previously released disc. 5. So, it's just a comp DVD, right? Gladiator , Tatiana , and Pyramid all spring to mind but I'm sure there are others . I own the Private Penthouse Box Set Vol 1-6 and a mighty fine collection it is . Beautiful packaging and a lower price than buying the discs individually , highly recommended . I definitely agree with you on the Ass Worship idea , though I've already got most of them so it wouldn't make too much sense for me personally . Still , if they were new to me it would be very tempting . [Link]

A studio wouldn't have as good as range in this possibility as the distributor who carries many studio's lines or the actual retailer themself. Flash Golden Age Classic 11018 Posts 5/01	Posted - Mar 20 2004 : 12:13PM As has been mentioned in this thread, Private has done that with several series, although the plastic cases are poorly designed, Hustler has done it with several of their series, VCX has two box sets (the largest I have seen with I think it is twelve titles in each), but they aren't by series, they are just of their discs, so only worth it if you want all the films and don't have any yet. It is a good idea for series films, especially if they did the same thing many mainstream companies do and made an extra bonus disc only available in the box set with extras pertaining to the film not otherwise available, not like the Private ones where the bonus disc is often their DVD Sampler. I'd love a reduced box set of the American Taboo series, so the cost would be slightly lower. Some series would run into problems though were the titles are held by different distributors, like the Debbie Does Dallas series where 1 is owned by VCX and I believe that 2 and 3 are owned by VCA.
