I'm biased because I've sold about 175 DVDs on ADM and bought about 15, but it's very similar to the Half.com model, where sellers list their DVDs and set their own price. After a sale, ADM takes a cut of the proceeds and the seller ships to the buyer. There's a feedback system that rates sellers on their reliability.

There are a number of commercial stores and small studios that sell via Marketplace. Prices, both for new and used DVDs, is pretty good, thanks to the competitive nature of listings (sellers compete against other sellers) and benchmarking against the Adult DVD Talk Price Search.

The site has been around since 2002.

I've bought a majority of my DVDs there. Since their site has competing bids from sellers, I've found that they have the best prices for a lot of DVD's, recent releases included. ADM does charge a $2 fee/surcharge as a transactional fee.

It seems to me that the ADM sellers are not major retailers nor distributors and that is why they list in the marketplace. Must be cheaper than creating their own website or online store.

The $2 fee/surcharge is actually mostly a shipping charge. "To cover this shipping expense, we charge buyers a $2.00 shipping charge for the first DVD from each seller, and $1.00 for each additional DVD purchased from the same seller." Most of the charge is paid to the seller to cover shipping the DVDs.

Most of the ADM sellers are not e-tailers, but there are several major sellers who have their own websites, such as adultcdmovies, adultdvd2000, adultdvdnow, playtimecinema, globalflix, and others.

I've only purchased once off of ADM, but I've sold many DVD's there. The guy who runs it does a great job and my one buying experience was flawless.

Shopped there recently for the first time ever. Good experience; everything went smoothly. I'll probably shop at Adult DVD Marketplace again.

I've bought and sold a ton of DVDs off of ADM and have had excellent luck. The guys who run it have been great, as well as very honest. They've even tried resolving problems for me before I even knew I might have a problem coming!

Are there any tips for selling there? I have a few for sale under some listings that claim a number of buyers are "watching". I've priced mine at the recommended prices (70% for like new) but am not getting any sales. Should I price lower, or am I expected to do some more agressive marketing?

Beware of the seller named "DONGOO." You may wait 30+ days for your order. I have orderd with him 4 times. The first 2 times avg 2 weeks then the third time 30+ days, then the 4 th time 2 weeks.

He's unreliable and at one point only shipped half of my order. Although he did make up for it by sending me 3 of his nonpremium titles, I was so frustrated by the whole experience with him. So buyer BEWARE.

Watching just means they're interested. They may be watching a title for when somebody puts it under $5, they may be watching for when anybody puts it up cheaper than they can get it through the retailers.

Since we heard many, many similar complaints about Mr. Goo we asked Adult DVD Marketplace to not provide us with prices for items listed by this seller.

Pay close attention to the feedback of the seller you plan to buy from, and you will be very happy with Adult DVD Marketplace. The comments in Mr. Goo's feedback are cautionary tales. A great thing, customer feedback, when a pattern of poor business practice is available before you buy.
