I've had parts of comments written in Elegant Angel's press releases, taken from my reviews. They always list my review name wrong, but at least they give credit to Adult DVD Talk.

At the top of the ad there is a quote: "SIMON WOLF SETS A NEW STANDARD" -Adult DVD Talk This quote was taken from Houston Don's review of Blue Angel. It's nice to see Adult DVD Talk getting some of the recognition it deserves.

It was from his earlier review of another title (B&TB) and read as follows: "Simon Wolf Makes A Fantastic Adult Movie." The cover also quoted a friend of ADT's, Ema from the Erotic Movie Compendium. Big Mike and others are routinely quoted on various websites and advertising as well. I emailed SWO and asked that any quotes be attributed to this website and not me personally which is cool except I'd rather they list it as a link. PS: The coolest part about it to me is that SWO really do put a lot of effort into a smaller number of movies-and they've proven they can handle everything from couples/features to hardcore splooge-fests. In many ways, they are what JKP originally set out to do but couldn't pull off. [Link] |

What if Blue Angel had sucked? Then they did it again with HD's review of Blue Angel, applying it to Naughty Bedtime Stories. This is bullshit, or am I missing something here? By playing fast and loose with review quotes, they could damage someone's credibility for their own glorification, so I commend and agree with HD's suggestion about not crediting the reviewer by name. The quote IS at the top of the artwork and could be part of the boxcover, but the phrase "Simultaneous DVD Twin Set & Video Release Sept 9, 2002" is in a similar location over the bottom of the artwork (I'm assuming that this will not be on the boxcover). That having been said, I could see how someone could infer that a quote like this was a recommendation for that particular title if the quote were on the boxcover. However, I disagree that this was "clearly the intention" in this case. [Link] |
