Sex Scene 1: B/G hard, raw

Keep the description to a minimum. A few words about the tone of the script, who is required for the scene, and thats it. Remember when you write your script that the sex scenes are going to eat up the time. They are usually pretty long. Also remember that most of the people who get these scripts are not always trained actors, and sometimes never see a script until they get to set. Keep the dialogue to the point. Unless its voice over, monologues are never a good idea. In porn, actions are everything. If it can be done without words, go for it. Dialogue is not some of these performers strong points, but a good number of them are actually very good physical performers, since so much of their performances rely on their bodies.

Plus, most of these productions are done on a limited budget, with limited locations. Keep the characters to a minimum, as well as the locations.

Plus, in porn, certain content is never tolerated. Violence against women, drug use, prostituition, graphic violence, or anything extremely R rated (other than language) is a big no-no. These movies have to be cable ready, and the biggest buyer is Playboy. They have a lot of no's and dont's. It gets tough. The only company I've seen really go against this lately is, oddly enough, Wicked. They've let the directors get darker, and sometimes even more violent (watch the movie Watching Samantha and you'll see what I mean).

Plus, at least with most of the stuff I've done, the director will give you the idea for what they want, and then you go from there. A lot of porn filming is based on specifics, such as who the performers are, who is required to have more than one scene, and to what extremes you can go with the sex. Writing in porn is hard, because you have a lot of rules against you, and you aren't given much to be creative with.

Also, it is really hard to get a script sold. You basically have to know someone, usually a director, or someone who can hook you up with a director, and even then, don't expect what you have on the page to show up on the screen exactly. I've only had one feature where that has happened, and the rest have all kept the spirit of the script, the setups, and the like, but the dialogue had been kind of shifted to help the performers.

However, I'm not so naive that I don't recognise the 'poisoned chalice' nature of this proposition...whichever studio puts up a script first is going to score a major, major grass-roots PR victory. Curious feature-porn fans everywhere will be eternally grateful to them and yadda, yadda, yadda ad infinitum.

On the flipside, said studio will also most likely become the de facto #1 target for aspiring porn scriptwriters to bombard with their (now correctly formatted) scriptwriting efforts.

Me personally, I'd love to see a script...count me in as curious. Who's going to be first to pony up the goods?

Damn, guess I can't do it then. This was going to be like a XXX version of the women in prison movies from the 70's like the Big Bird Cage. Containing such things as homemade contraband strap ons and shower fights complete with a judo throw, a good solo scene from inside Solitary, etc.. That would be a movie I'd like to see. Wasn't looking to make money with it, just wanted to see it come to life. Wouldn't be worth doing though without the action. I had a feeling there were rules like that though. Pirates is one of my favorite movies but had hoped for a lot more in terms of the swordfights and stuff. I don't mean heads chopped off or crap like that, nothing gruesome, but you know what I mean. What is Camp Cuddly Pines like? Are the non-sex scenes, the rest of the feature kid's stuff?

To be honest, companies don't buy porn scripts. It's the directors that usually choose their projects, and then go to the company with it to get it approved. Most directors write their own stuff, and a good deal of directors already have writers. It's not easy. The best thing to do would be to try and get in contact with a director you like (and I would say avoid very established directors such as Paul Thomas, since he has scripts piled up, and has two or three writers he already works with), and talk to them.

And a little note. When I said violence against women, I ment in terms of domestic abuse and stuff like that. If its done more in the vein of an action movie, and mostly seperate from the sex (and never even makes any of the sex seem like rape) then it should be fine. And if it's women vs. women, it's okay. Just no rape. And with the sex toys... be careful. Certain things cannot be shown being inserted into a vagina or anus. At least not for some of the major studios. I remember hearing that a shot of a bottle being inserted into a vagina had to be cut in one film. Like I said, it's tricky. Plus, the sex is pretty much entirely up to the director.

But in all seriousness though, I here what you guys are saying but when it comes to s/m porn, dialogue is so important and I'm just asking for a chance.
