Adult Industry and the Economy?
As a end user consumer of your industry, and reader and not a poster of this forum, that is until now .... my inquisitive question is -
How does the weak economy that we all are facing, effect those in the Adult Industry? Everyone as a whole. From the video manufactures, websites, performers, and everything in-between …all the way down to the storefront proprietor or web based retailer.
Why I ask is twofold.
1.) I see that a great majority of those in the Adult Industry post on this site and was curious regarding the Adult Industry Vs. the Economy correlation .... and if they would be willing to openly discuss or give their thoughts about this topic on a forum board.
2.) I am grasping a trend in video side of the industry with fewer and fewer new movies, with the trend leaning towards somewhat older movies re-released, compilations, multi-packs and so forth. Am I seeing this incorrectly? Or is this a seasonal release motive (certain time of year?) or a the new releases are based on predetermined report of some nature?
Any and all thoughts are welcome.
As an aside to those in video manufacture side of the industry with websites.
To those that post video trailer previews of their new releases on their websites, thank you. In doing such you greatly enable ones buying or rental decision, thus gaining valuable market share.
To those that do not post video trailer previews of their new releases on their websites. I’d gather to say their are many like me that you hinder our buying or rental decision, thus losing valuable market share.

Thank you juha. I tried the search function, scanned what came up, and didn’t see what you linked. I’ll take a look at what you found for me. Thanks again for taking the time to post, it’s much appreciated. Hopefully the aside I noted doesn’t go unnoticed.

This trend you write of is not exclusive to the porn industry, but music and film in general. Every second movie that comes out these days is either a remake or a sequeal/prequel. Same goes for music, rap & R&B seem to just rip off some old song with the background chorus or melody or something, and club/dance music is no better.
I'm not looking forward to the future of these media, as it is inevitable that one day everything will be a repeat of previous releases. This hasn't happened before, as it is only in the last century entertainment media developed.

Yeah everybody, if you're interested in this topic just see the thread juha linked to above.
Motoman, you should mention your aside in that other thread.
I'm going to lock this one.
