I've used Adult Friend Finder a couple times, but it seems like all everyone does on there is chat. I did put up a few pictures and got a few winks but not much other than that. If anyone uses one that they like, please refer it to me. I've seen other ones like sex-search and alt.com too but I haven't really checked them out. I came across this new one while I was looking at sex-search, it's called eRendezvous. Anyone heard of it? Aparently it's quite new, it looks like they're doing a beta soon. If someone with more experience would check it out, please let me know what you think. I hope it's not a big deal to post the link here. It seems like most of the ones out there are cookie cutter sites from friendfinder.com. I don't really care for that system. I checked out lava life. It has some type of 'credits' system which you have to buy to contact other people. That sounds kind of crappy. So I found another one called adultpersonals.com. I'll have to check it out too. eRendezvous is doing a picture contest, so I sent one into them. If I win I could get a free membership lol. Hey it could happen! I did have some pretty good conversations with several members, mostly females. But I never actually hooked up with anyone via the service. The most popular ones seem to be Match.com and Eharmony.com. I've heard that they work fairly well but I cannot personally attest to that. [Link]

I think places like eHarmony and match.com are more of 'romance' or 'love' focused websites and not 'sex' focused. They are still websites and aren't really any different than friendfinder.com or even adultfriendfinder.com. I sent the eRendezvous guys an email. I'll be damned they actually sent a reply. I saw some screenshots of their program. They don't seem to discriminate against certain lifestyles. Seeing as how the options for your 'type' include 'Gay Couples', 'Lesbian Couples' and even 'Hermaphrodite' (wow). So far it looks pretty damn cool though, and it's very different than the online personals I've seen. I think I'm just going to wait for their beta to come out, I went ahead and signed up for it yesterday. I've never been a beta tester, so it should be neat =). Wow Dean, that was quite the sales pitch. I did take a look at www.delichat.com though. Talking to overseas women who get paid to video chat just isn't my thing. Also, although the site says it's a community, it looks more like an upgraded 900 number business model. That just isn't of any interest to me. -void [Link]

I already knew about ones I didn't like. So, not being able good answer, I set out on my own research. Here are the results of my findings after a week of using them, although some of these here I've been using for months. I reviewed 11 adult personals site, I've listed them below with reference numbers because I didn't want to type so much: (1) adultfriendfinder.com (2) alt.com (3) hornymatches.com (4) passion.com (5) sexsearch.com (6) adultpersonals.com (7) lavalife.com (8) eroticy.com (9) exxxtremedating.com (10) amateurmatch.com (11) erendezvous (1-4) use the exact same web software, I'm not sure who developed it, but I tend to think it came originally from friendfinder.com. I've been using (1) and (2) for a couple months now. These sites carry a 'classed' member system (standard, silver, gold) which I think is quite stupid and overpriced. sexsearch is a bit different than (1-4) and I gotta give them credit for that, but they are still sticking with the 'classed' member system. adultpersonals.com has a reasonable price, but lacks the features of (1-4) and (5). lavalife.com is quite interesting, its lists aren't really structured and it reminds me of an old BB back in the pay-by-minute internet days. (8-10) Are all different from the rest, and they their own strengths and weaknesses, but still hold the same disconnected format. Conclusion all of these websites look enticing when you see their front page. But on the inside they aren't really fun and it gets boring after a while. Mostly, people on these websites just text/video chat and nothing else. They tend to lack the tools for better communication like a stable instant messaging client and email features. All have a disconnected feel, and maybe that's because they are just dynamic webpages generated from database information. Which now brings me to eRendezvous. I don't want to sound like a spokesperson for them, but I really think what they are doing is exciting. Maybe I'm excited over them out of spite for the rest of the adult personals site, I don't know. They are taking the route of an application instead of a website. Their goal is to be media/feature rich and provide a fun playground for adults. They are also putting emphases on tools which will get help people together physically. I've tried a lot of the dating-based sites, including Lavalife, and while I think Lavalife is one of, if not THE best, none of them seem to work very well - and this is coming from someone who has no problem meeting women off a chatline/dateline over the phone. As for the adult-based sites, I have heard many bad things, especially that they are out and out ripoffs. On Plentyoffish.com, there is a very good forum there, and this topic was discussed and the experiences I heard were that Adult Friend Finder and the like were total rip offs.. I could only view an introductory profile, but maybe things have changed on this site since several years ago. In the first week that I signed up as a standard member with AdultFriendFinder, I received my first wink, then two more after a couple of days. Except for giving my ego a good little stroke, these winks did nothing to further contact since these contacts were standard members too, meaning I had to upgrade my account to view their full profiles. But I became a little suspicious once several members - those who winked me and those I randomly searched - displayed the same personal information in other members' profiles as if they were templates used randomly. The last straw came when a member who winked me (again, a standard member) had a profile photo of Aria Giovanni. Even if the profiles appeared genuine, you'd have to wonder why a standard member would wink another in the first place, if they knew further contacts were not forthcoming. I stumbled on some forums including the one Niteflyer mentioned several months ago, and it only confirmed my suspicion that dodgy operators float around and will try anything to grab your moolah, so now I've been once bitten... Having said that, there are genuine sites around like Adultmatchmaker.com.au (not too sure if there's an affiliated UK site) who implement Id/photo verification among other measures to ensure genuine membership.
