No idea what the cause of death is but she did mention on a Dec 24 Tweet that she was alone for the Holidays and that can't be good for the morale.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, there needs to be some serious reform within the adult entertainment industry. There needs to be structured places for these beautiful young women to go to for educational, financial and mental purposes. The NFL has a players union that addresses these issues. They also have a rookie symposium for rookies to attend that help them set up their finances and help them with planning their careers. The adult industry needs to start pteotecting its most valuable asset.....the performers!!! Again, we have another beautiful soul lost to the free for all that is the adult industry. As a diehard fan of adult entertainment...I want to see more being done to help these young performers grow physically, mentally and financially. This is unacceptable.
What the fuck is going on? This is getting ridiculous now.

I liked how approachable and friendly she was on twitter. She'd like and RT fan's tweets, occasionally. I left my condolences on one of Jill Kassidy's tweets, as she worked with Olivia in a recent Vixen scene. I'm shocked and saddened this has happened. RIP, Olivia. Another angel recieves her wings.
I met Olivia on her FTVgirls shoot. She was so nice and friendly, but her and I never exchanged numbers or anything because we only conversed briefly :( I remember her telling me that she didn't want to do boy girl and I told her that I'm a Solo and girl on girl performer and that she could do the same. She showed me her modeling work outside of the adult industry and it was very good. If self-harm was the cause, I wish there was more I could have done, I do agree it would be a good idea to have a support group/line as a start for Models in the industry. The industry in my opinion is very empowering, but the stigma put on by society I understand can be very disheartening to Models. I just don't know where to begin with that. And even if a support group is started it will only help Models who know of it and are open to it. Even if self-harm isn't the case, I think a support group would be beneficial... Part of that reform is going to be extremely difficult because of how demanding, rude and inconsiderate alot of fans are on Twitter and these forums. It's too easy for people here to forget that pornstars are people too. They have the right to work with whomever they want and to not work with whom they'd rather avoid. There is no sexual act that a pornstar has to do, anal - IR - gangbang or otherwise. It's quite acceptable to ask about that but hounding and harassing them is what leads to early retirements and these kinds of deaths. Unfortunately for the fiends, there's no amount of extremism within the bedroom in porn that will begin to satisfy their reckless desire to see various stars pushed to the breaking point. That was a great scene. I am a big Olivia Nova fan. Watched her Exploited College Girls scene and fell in love/lust with her immediately and looked for every scene she has done. I know she recently went to Europe and filmed with Woodman-I saw some of the behind the scenes clips-and she looked like she was having a great time. I sure hope it wasn't suicide. Very sad day.

Don't think i'd be able to watch it. Just don't think it'd be right. I don't think i'd be able to watch a scene with Olivia in it ever again. I wouldn't like to remember her like that.
There was an article in the Daily Mail (UK) stating that her boyfriend had committed suicide last April, two days before her birthday and about a month after she entered the business. She reportedly tweeted this from Paris in mid-December, about two weeks before the oft-cited Christmas tweet about being alone for the holidays. She was living in Vegas and was found at a private residence there other than her own. The article (including images of the alleged tweets) can be found at the Daily Mail web site. The DM and similar rags are known for their sensationalism. I can't vouch for the veracity of the piece -- I reference it here only because it appears to have more details that most other sources that have been cited thus far. I am so happy I have not seen the real family names of Olivia and August in the press. I hope it will provide their families some privacy in their time of grief.
The NFL somewhat "cares" for their players (CTE) as long as they bring in the cash. Very good football players are harder to come by than pretty girls willing to have sex on camera. The industry doesn't give 2 sh*ts about the commodity (women) that fuels their business.

^Perhaps those jumping to conclusions about suicide or drug taking can learn a lesson to wait for the facts. There does seem to be a real problem in the industry over the way girls are treated (see the new thread in this section about tweets from Piper Perri and Holly Hendrix as an example), but no evidence that I've seen of a causal connection to suicide or drug addiction.

I learnt about this in an article about Olivia Lua's death, this is terrible I was looking forward to seeing her again on Vixen after her scenes with Jill Kassidy and Val Jean... Just tragic...
UTI in women tends to occur after sex or anal. I get a UTI after sex if I don't pee right away. Sometimes you can get a UTI just for taking a bath. I hate that she died at all, the reason doesn't matter :( she was all alone when it happened too, on Christmas. God why the hell do these things happen.

I only clicked on this thread because I didn't recognize the name and wanted to see if the face was familiar. She's not my type, so I wouldn't watch her regardless of IR or being alive. If I was attracted to her, I would check her out. The fact that she passed doesn't influence my desire to watch. If I watched and enjoyed her work, I would probably be most sad that I couldn't watch her career develop. Just another example of life not being fair, it was tough reading all the hurdles she faced in the last couple years. Hopefully she was in the biz because she wanted to be, not because she was driven here.
