I opted for the two months for $24.95 (an excellent deal, BTW) that gave me "unlimited" access, "unlimited" streaming, and "unlimited" downloads. I'm not sure why I hadn't done this with earlier memberships to AT, but I like older movies and they have a great catalogue from some great studios (though it could be better organized), so I did a deep dive into those. I took last Friday off to make it an extra-long weekend and since I had nothing better to do, I started going through the back catalogue and there was a lot I liked and wanted. I had a chance to fill in some gaps in long-running series that I liked and collected.
I'll admit that over the course of five or six hours I downloaded a lot. I mean a lot. But I was still surprised when I was locked out because I had hit a download limit. Why was I surprised at that? Because how can you have a download limit with a membership that you've sold as being without any limits whatsoever? Unlimited has a meaning, and it doesn't mean a "reasonable" limit. If it's a reasonable limit, then say so.
It's no big deal because the chances of me ever hitting 300 GB in a day again are about zero, but it does still annoy me a bit when the membership is sold as being unlimited.
I'm no fan of download limits but I can accept them if they are reasonable, and I'll fully agree that the Adult Time limit is reasonable. I was just a bit surprised since I had never found one there before, and I relied on the term "unlimited" to mean just that.
It's no big deal, and I'm still a fan.
