Every January Sin City becomes Porn City for a week as fans, directors, makeup
girls and most importantly the pornstars descend on this desert oasis to meet,
greet, schmooze and maybe do the nasty all confined to one little piece of land
called the Las Vegas Strip. The epicenter for this gathering is the Sands Expo
Center which just so happens to be attached to the Venetian Casino. The scenery
of Vegas grabs you especially at night, well for this week something else grabs
your attention and maybe if the girls frisky enough, grabs you in a few other
places!

The show this year changed back to the Thu-Sun format so that meant most people
arriving in Wed to try and check in, get badges and oh yeah hit this little
place called the Circle Bar where all the schmoozing really gets going along
with a few cocktails being consumed, if you're lucky enough to get in town this
day and want to see a lot of the stars this is the place to be. As for the show
itself, there were a few companies missing booths such as Red Light District and
Anabolic but both had girls in to represent, just walking around the showroom
floor. Seemed most of the biggies were concentrated up front-- Adam & Eve,
Digital Playground, Wicked, Evil Angel-- most porn fans need not leave the first
100 feet or so after entering but it was still good to walk around and see who
else was there, Briana Banks Entertainment was new this year and had their set
up towards the middle of the showroom floor and you had to walk up stairs to
meet and greet their girls.

The first day was all trade/ press so no fans this day but really aren't we all
fans to some extent-- this was the best day for interviews, pictures, signing
stuff, etc. and it seemed most of the girls were here this day. Friday to
Saturday was when the fans got in on the fun, usually after a few trade hours
before, save for Sunday when it was a free for all! I'd say the feeling that
attendance was down this year could be right but that also made it easier to get
around and then to get in line for that special picture with your favorite girl.
You had the usual T-shirt/ Dvd throw outs and it never ceased to make me chuckle
how people would flock whenever a pretty girl stood up and started waving the
swag around, like Bees to Honey!! Saturday also maked the big awards show that
night and as many predicted Pirates II walked away with quite a lot of the booty
that was passed out winning for Movie, Director and pretty much every technical
category it was up for. Wicked Pictures star jessica drake won for Fallen which
I believe made her third win in this category. There were first time winners too
such as Ashlynn Brooke who won for her My Plaything title- this was in fact the
first award given out and made her night I'm sure. As for the Performers of the
year you had James Deen taking the honors with Joanna Angel going up to accept
for him, I believe he was indisposed at the time and for the ladies Jenna Haze
won what many might consider a long overdue win but still 2008 saw Jenna Haze do
so much so this award was richly deserved. So that brings us to Sunday where the
wind down begins, the ladies showed up, maybe a few with the post award show
blues but the fans still got plenty of star power with smiles and hugs to close
out another successful AEE show. So to sum it up, great times from start to
finish, if planning on going to this, I'd urge a few things, patience, a pair of
good sneakers and a backpack to collect all the goodies you'll accumulate!!
