Hi, I'm giving serious consideration to flying over to Vegas from England next month for the Adult Entertainment Expo as I'm a big Porn fan and have always wanted to go. Just after people's opinions as to how good it actually is and whether it's worth the hassle of a long haul flight? Cheers.
if you have any interest in seeing vegas for the sake of vegas or CES I would say yes. the avn awards of the past are over imho though, still a trip to vegas is always fun though

I am making a long haul flight primarily for a holiday in Las Vegas, but the timing of the AEE was perfect and so I just had to experience such a quirky aspect of the US whilst I was there.

Hmmmm... I guess a question I'd have to ask is if you'd have to dig into savings for the trip. If the cost of the trip wouldn't make you have to give up something else important in your life, or make things tight financially, then here's my answer: It's certainly THE convention to go to in the U.S. It is the convention in all of the world that will have the most bona-fide porn stars under one roof all at the same time. However, it's a fairly tame convention. The Berlin convention is possibly a more 'interesting' convention to go to.

It really isn't worth the time, effort, or money to go to the convention. You'll spend more time waiting in line than anything else. And for what? To get an autograph from some girl you've never heard of and will be out of the business in 6 months. I've been there several times on a vendor badge, and other than the novelty of it being a porn convention, it's not worth going out of your way for.

That's what I was going to suggest, maybe Berlin instead? I'll try to go to Berlin this year or next and it's the only porn convention I'm really interested in.
@joey: i have no comparison to other conventions because venus '07 was the first convention i have visited so far. but berlin as convention doesnt worth a long trip if you dont want to meet particular persons

They hand out photos, posters and Tshirts for sure. You'll also see little novelty items. This year, other than pens, posters, photos and shirts, Evil Angel has beanies and stress balls. But here's a tip to everyone: if you have general questions about what the convention is like, I highly suggest you do a search here on ADT for the term AEE. You're going to find lots of people's first hand accounts of what they experienced.
What Tricia said is true! It's all in what you expect to do/see. I have been six times and had fun. Was it worth it? Probably not, and I live in Nevada... I'm looking into Berlin myself... ~Scar Edited by - scarboro on 12/30/2007 8:29:08 PM
From England? I guess if you have the money to burn but a lot of the US women go to the European conventions regularly and they are not nearly as restrictive as ours is.
I more or less agree with this. I'm not even sure it's worth the time to check out if you're in town for something else - you'll see more than your fair share of adult stars just hanging out in the casinos during the week, and without all the hassle.

I was fortunate when I went, as a friend hooked me up with a vendor badge. The name on my credential was one of the Bang Brothers. The main advantage of the vendor badge was that I was able to enter the trade show when it opened at 10AM versus 1PM for the general public. I spent my time wandering around getting tons of porn swag such as t-shirts, hats, posters, DVD samplers, and samples of other products also. And, by being in the room before it opened to the general public, the lines for autographs were 4 or 5 people long at best, except of course for Tera Patrick and a few select others. Even though there was only a few people in line for most of the girls, I always seemed to get stuck behind some mook who needed to take 15 pictures of the girl with 10 different cameras. I also got stuck behind this one mook who, and I am not kidding, had 5 different calendars and was having the girls sign each and every calendar on her birthday. I left shortly after they opened to the public, as the lines for the girls had grown immensely. As I was carrying my 4 pages of swag back out the door, I literally passed more than 5,000 people waiting to get into the trade show. The main high points of the show, I spent 5 minutes chatting with Kylie Ireland about the fate of the world as we were waiting for her people to bring her more glossies for her to sign. I chatted with Heather Gables for a few minutes as noone else was around, I told Jasmine Byrne that I loved her work, and she said to me, "You just love it because I'm so nasty!" as she signed a picture of her face with 4 or 5 large black cocks resting on it. The Anabolic Booth was giving out calendars and had a bunch of the girls from the calendar signing really hardcore shots of themselves. But even with the high points listed above, I would be hard pressed to go out of my way to attend this convention unless of course, I was there, had nothing better to do, and had a vendor badge. But as far as traveling for this show. Save the time, money, and effort.
Is there any way you can buy signed photo's from these events? Apart from ebay as we couldn't access adult material on ebay from here in the U.K,don't the organiser's have an official retailer for these things?i know the mainstream film star conventions i attend here in the U.K do.I'd certainly be interested!

I have a 9 slightly worn porn company t-shirts that I'd be willing to sell.
sorry, the might be a dump question, but why are you looking forward for berlin? since i'm from berlin i'm a regluar visitor and even got the chance to work there last year, but i always dreamed about the aee...maybe we always want what we don't have... ok, what i understand is that here a not like 100 people in line waiting for the girls to sign, but on the other hand there are far more girls in the us. by the way, tricia, were you and/or john over in berlin last year? i searched and searched but couldn't find you so i hope i didn't miss you. bad enough that i didn't see christoph clarck either... i agree with malte. the only cool thing about berlin was the fact that the regular visitors there were focused on the topless blonde no-names there, so you had time enough to talk to the real interesting people (who where quite incognito there).
