Okay, I recently viewed the first episode of HBO's adult series Pornucopia, and the publisher of Screw Magazine, Al Goldstein, made some interesting and halarious comments about first year female pornstars who accept various awards at the AVN Award Show. Quote: "What I love the best about the Awards is when a new piece of ass wins best film, and with tears in her eyes, she waves her hand as a statue and says I wanna thank my mother and father.......and they really take this shit seriously.......All she did was suck a dick!"

Now, I don't totally agree with everything that he said, but the way he said it was too damn funny that it had me rollin'.

Overall it brings up intriguing questions: As fans, performers, or people envolved behind the scenes, how much do you truly value the awards given at the AVN Awards Show? How much validity, if any, do you give it?

Al's just cranky 'cause it wasn't his dick getting sucked.

Seriously, 99% of mainstream theater is of no greater moment, so what's the big deal?

Do I take the awards seriously? As a fan, no. I think it's OK as an industry event, though.

Currently, the IAFD has information on "38,238 performers and directors."

Sure, we're not talking the Sermon on the Mount here, but it is nice to be singled out by your peers for recognition

At one time Screw Magazine was the only accurate source of porn review.

At one time I could go two blocks without coming across a Starbucks - times change.
That is the thing about Al Goldstein - 'was'.
