I was bored tonight and did some checking around on rame.net for potential future purchases. I came across his name during one of several searches. I have heard that he is/was one of the pioneers of porn, and after reading the obituary that was in AVN on rame.net. I was wondering if any of his films made it to DVD? If not, then why? He also directed a lot of films for Rosebud under the name Rex Borsky. All of them I believe are anal, it is Rosebud after all. There is an interesting article about him in the SF Spectator -- a sort of sophisticated porn rag located there. I'm sure Yahoo or Google search would yield it up. DeRenzy does indeed seem like one of the original, creative and as well edgie pioneers in the biz. Unfortunately, I think French Guy is only half right. A loot of his best stuff doesn't seem to have made it over to DVD. I've got this on my spreadsheet database as the best of deRenzy's stuff, to look out for, in alphabetical order:
The three I'm most interested in are Pretty Peaches and Baby Face (his two most admired works from the 70's), and Slave to Love, a 90's work that looks real interesting. Why the last in particular is not on DVD is a mystery to me. I think it has mostly to do with who owns the tape rights now. Though the whole list above certainly should be.

I think it was the uncensored version cause there's the infamous enema scene with Desiree Cousteau (Damn that girl is hot). Unfortunately it was dubbed in French. Passions and Ball busters are two of my faves and IMO, De Renzy's best work. [Link] |
