You can mail some members clicking the "envelope" thing over their responses.

BTW, somehow I KNEW that this thread-closing frenzy would scare you off. But we, mere mortals, can´t say that a moderator is doing something wrong.

Well, those are the rules of the forum. Not that I care about ´em, of course. In fact, I don´t like rules. But they´re a necessary evil, otherwise I would keep telling a certain member of this forum, who´s also a mod, to fuck off in 11 out of every 10 threads...

No don't do that. This is a great site, I can't imagine why they locked the thread. I hope to see you as a regular on this site in the future. It is a great way to get insight on the business from insiders and outsiders. I reccomend taking full advantage of it. Your fans on this site will find a way to ask there questions on another thread.

Hey, have you shot any scenes in the last week or so? If so, who were they with and for what director?

Amee, the person who locked those threads is a moderator. That's someone who keeps the forums orderly -- it's his job to make sure things don't get out of control. I would compare this position to a judge -- you may not like the decisions, but you have to abide by them.

I understand your frustration, but I happen to agree with Bill's call. I don't like people creating new threads just so their comment or question has better visibility. There have been many threads about you recently, and it's really not necessary to create new ones unless the topic is vastly different.

I believe we are consistent in the enforcement of forum etiquitte -- we have asked people to confine their comments to existing threads in the past instead of opening new ones, and we will do so in the future.

I hope that addresses your concerns.

I might add that if anyone has a beef with the decisions a moderator makes, then you can always take it up with the management by e-mailing webmaster@adultdvdtalk.com.

The reason why this is a great site is, in part, due to the moderation of the forums. We keep a close rein on spam, diahrrea, flamewars, and other things that some other, more chaotic boards don't. I know for a fact that there wouldn't be the quality of discussion and participation from both the industry and consumers if there was no moderation.

We welcome everyone's participation, but there are rules and standards by which we operate. So please don't take it personally if a thread is moved, edited, or locked of if a reminder of the rules is issued by a moderator.

Amee,
It was my decision to close some of the newer "Amee" threads. As Saki has pointed out, we attempt to keep topics to a single thread where appropriate.

The threads that I closed were all of the "Hi Amee" variety. There is no reason that these posts shouldn't have been added to one of the existing threads rather than starting a new thread.

I know many people are saying to themselves, "If you don't want to read them, then don't read them". However, for the moderators, that it not an option. It is part of our responsibility to keep an eye on each thread to make sure that forum rules are not being broken. Having multiple threads essentially saying the same thing unnecessarily makes it more difficult to do this job.

Actually, I think that the mistake that was made was in initilly allowing so many duplicate threads to initially propigate. I probably should have attempted to establish some order immediately. But most people here know the guidelines, so I didn't think that thing would get out of control, as they did.

One of the creators of the 3 threads that I closed has actually already written me, thanked me for the information that I provided and asked me to delete the thread (which I am not capable of doing, but will forward that request to Saki, who can).

I'm sorry that closing these threads has upset you. But please be assured that it was nothing personal, I am just trying to keep some order around here.

I am very happy that you have joined ADT and hope that you continue to participate.

By the way, I loved your scene in Service Animals 12.

Oh. Sowy. It´s that you put that answer AND closed one of my threads who was pretty similar to one who wasn´t closed, so I thought it was a personal beef with me.

And please, don´t take it personally. You´re a moderator, meaning that you´re part of the System (no matter how benevolent), and I´m the reincarnation of Che Guevara, so I guess we´re just doing our genetic jobs.

Sorry to hear you got upset Amee. I am certain these thread closings were done for the reasons stated and that in no way were these personal attacks or in anyway a put down to you. Amee you are a breath of fresh air to this site and your openness has endeared you to so many that we just flooded you with questions and other comments. I really do hope you keep posting as your input is fun and very much appreciated by me and I would think most people at the site. So please stay Amee!!!!!

Hello Amee,

I would like to show my hospitality as well. I have a proposition for you. Don't worry, it is an honorable one.
I don't know if you are familiar with a couple of weekly series I am running here in the Star Crossed forum on ADT, devoted to American and Euro Babes of the Week. Every week, I pick 1 American and 1 European girl as Babes of the Week, because I feel the girls in question deserve more attention than is given them or are simple underrated. Now, since you got a lot of attention in this forum, you kinda shot yourself in the foot in this regard. You are not eligible anymore for the series, I am sorry. Besides, I already posted the best pictures I could find of you in a recent Star Crossed thread.
But I thought it would be interesting if an industry member of the forum would act as guest editor for one of the series, since they could lend a whole new perspective on the subject. In other words, would you be interested in becoming the first industry related guest editor of the "American Babe of the Week" series. Or even more appropriate, would you be so knd as to act as a guest editor for the "Male Performer of teh Week", a series I have created as well. All you have to do, is pick a girl or a guy who you believe deserves more credit and I will look for a picture of her or him. You can send your choice and a few lines explaining why you picked her or him, to my e-amiladdress. You can find it in my member profile.
In case you are not interested, I'll understand. Hell, I hope I haven't offend you with this strange proposition. In case you are too busy right now to do this, that is no problem as well. You can mail me any time for this. Let me know if you are interested and if that is the case, we will work out the details later.

btw, in case you are unsure of what to expect, check out some the topics devoted the Babe of the Week. Or maybe you would rather check out some "Male Performers of the Week". I for one am curious what you have to say about them.

Hi Amee,

I'm not a moderator, but I try and read most of the threads. I was finding it somewhat difficult when there were so many threads open, basically on the same topic of asking questions. (And note that they are locked, not deleted. Anyone can still read them.) I felt it made things tidier when some got locked (because they were basically duplicates) and only two or three main ones remained open.

You can still respond to the questions in the locked threads. Simply say in an open thread you want to answer the questions in "this" thread, and provide a link to the locked thread. That way you can answer the questions from the locked thread in one of the on-going ones.

But it does keep things tidier.

Hope you stay around because as others have said, you have been a breath of fresh air.

Also you have given us some awesome scenes in your movies.

Hey, Amee, i have a question that you have probably heard already countless times, but i just want to know. Why so many gonzo performers,in this case female, leave industry after only few years, in their early twentys, while performers that get contracts with Vivid, Wicked and other feature oriented studios stay a lot longer? I know it is a lame question, but i rarely, almost never buy gonzo DVDs (i prefer features), so i never get to see many stars that i like either by seeing them on their websites or on photos posted in this forum, or when i give their DVDs a chance.

Off the top of my head, I can tell you that she is in the following DVD's

Heavy Handfulls 2 (Elegant Angel)
Service Animals 12 (Evil Angel)
Flesh Hunter 4 (Evil Angel)
Assault That Ass #2 (Red Light District)
A Group Thing #2 (Red Light District)

On VHS, I know that she's in recent editions of Naughty College Schoolgirls and Grrl Power.

If I've missed anything on DVD, please add to the list. I have listed the DVD titles that I own. If there are others available, I probably want to own those as well.

Great!!!
All you have to do is pick a person, write a few lines explaining why you think that person deserves to be performer or babe of the week and mail it to this addres: walterburnsbe@yahoo.com.
If you happen to have a picture of the person you have picked, that would be great as well. You can send that picture to the same e-mailaddress. Otherwise, I will (have to) search for a picture myself.
I will post the whole thing on the forum on Saturday or Sunday. I do this every week, so there is no hurry. If you like, I will e-mail the post to you before I post it, so that you can change anything you want before it goes public.

Looking forward to hear from you.

M

ok, on this subject i am going to be brutally honest, and use mostly myself as an example...
hardcore aka gonzo is on the opposite end of the spectum from feetures, at least the features ive seen are not near as brutal as gonzo, it takes a special girl to do gonzo films, i myself after the month and a half with only 6 days off almost quit the biz because it is a hard job to do and can wear you physically and mentally. my expierence so far has been this:
my first two weeks out there (october 2002) i did about 12 scenes give or take one or two, when i got home, my pussy was terribly sore, i had a yeast infection, and got sick with a fever.
my second two weeks, i did 10-11 scenes, came home with a yeast infection that i had to treat 4 times to get rid of because people decided to do ATP (ass to pussy) without cleaning their cocks off.i wound up with pink eye that i gave to my bouyfriend and our roommate (oops) and yet again i got sick, more than likely the getting sick is due to weather changes, and i had a bladder infection.
now, the last two weeks (january) the first week i was at the avn, which was a blast, but boy was i tired! i had a great time, but the last week i only did one scene, a 5on1 where i got my ass tore in 3 places, and because of ass to mouth i wound up with pinworm (alot like ringworm or tape worms but much much smaller).
so you see from my expierences, i can understand why girls leave so fast, but i refuse to give up.
when it comes to features, and i cant say much about em but from what ive seen, there a lot more timid, not near as rough, so you can do a lot more, if im wrong about this fact please let me know (any girl thats done features)
im good friends with felicia fox and she's done some feature work, just did her first gonzo interratial with sean michaels, she's never had any real problems with work, she's got over 100 films going. so by that i assume its much safer, and not as wearing.
ive spent most of the money ive made on medical bills....so if any of those girls that quit are like me, they figured, with the bills, and how much you make its almost not worth the trouble, your wasteing your time.
but for me, things are changing, youll understand what i mean really soon, im not gonna get hrt again, no more tears in my ass, no hemeroids,no pinworms, hopefully no yeast infections. my world is a changin! and hopefully everyone will dig what im doing!
i hope this helps to answer your question
with that big long story all i can really say is that it takes a really special hardcore nymphmaniac to handle gonzo, and i hope that if any new girls read this, you'll know what to expect and take caution, but be strong and work hard because it pays off in the end (litterally and figuratively speaking).

if theres anything you have questions about feel free to ask.

Thanks for that very honest post Amee!! I want you around for a long time or as long as you want to be in the biz!!! and if that means you doing less work as far as hardcore scenes go that is fine or if that means more feature work sprinkled in with the hard core that would be fine too-- Wicked or VCA please, not Vivid, lol, although they would make you look beautiful so that might not be bad either :)
I am anxious to hear about the new directions your career might take and hope you will keep us informed when you can. Just take care of yourself and make flicks you can get off too and the true fans of Amee Donavan will go along with whatever direction you may go!!!

Hey Amee,

Sorry to hear about you getting sick but am glad to hear that you are now well . You give a lot of yourself in your scenes and that is why you are so popular. You need to cast yourself in a role where your Irish temper will be perfect -- Gilvert 3 anybody? Hang in there and be back. I would like to see you in harder roles but not if you have to get hurt. Hope all your booboos are healed.

Damn Amee!Ya know as hot as anal sex looks on video,I still don't like to hear the phrase "tears in my anus",that's almost as bad a phrase as "prolapsed colon"EWWWW!

I never realized how dangerous A2M could be,I mean,in theory I had my suspicions, but ouch!Being sick is definitely not worth any amount of money or fame.So although I love seeing you do DP's and stuff, you do what you gotta do girl!Damn, now maybe I shouldn't be so surprised that my sweetheart August doesn't do anal. What an eyeopener.I can only imagine what Bella has gone through.Anyway,we certainly have enough hardcore stuff to enjoy if you plan to ease up on the hard sex.

this is generally what happens when girls (usually from outside of LA) come to LA and try to work everyday, sometimes twice a day while they are here. Most girls only work 2-3 times a week. It is not "gonzos" fault that you got hurt, it is trying to do too much too quick. This is not common. You have to weigh the options- work alot, make lots of money= getting your pussy and ass fucked up. I wouldnt go changing your "body of work". Just take it up the ass in moderation. Moderation is the key

hardcore aka gonzo is on the opposite end of the spectum from features, at least the features ive seen are not near as brutal as gonzo

gonzo is known as hardcore, and even with girls that i know that do only 2-3 scenes a week are sore after shoots.

when it comes to features, and i cant say much about em but from what ive seen, there a lot more timid, not near as rough, so you can do a lot more, if im wrong about this fact please let me know (any girl thats done features

in other words i could be totally wrong about the differance between gonzo/features....

It is not "gonzos" fault that you got hurt, it is trying to do too much too quick

you are totally rite, now that i know how hardcore hardcore is, i wont be doing as much, ive learned my lesson, and i really dont think it has anything to do with being from l.a. or not people out of porn in l.a. fuck the same as people here, so you dont know about the biz till you do it....., not trying to piss you off or anything, im just trying to clearify what i said, so its not taken the wrong way as it already has been.

and your shoot happened to be one of my favs although things happened that i didnt like but thats done and over with and i dont care, i watched the video and i thought you did a great job! it was a hot scene and ive heard nothing but good things about the whole video!

i hope you liked the turn out too!

much luv,
amee

The "girls that arent from LA" comment was meant as girls who come here for a short amt. of time, and try to fit too many shoots in all at once, not LA people vs. non LA people.
Yes your scene for me was very good. I enjoyed it lots!

Very interesting and informative posts, Amee and jules.

I know lately, (especially in these forums) a lot of fans react angrily to porn starlets that leave "gonzo" apparently for no other reason than the money. Your posts definitely shed some light on the harsh realities of the business. As jules said, moderation is the key to longevity (6 days off in 1.5 months is unhealthy in any profession). Fans like myself look forward to much more excellent work in the future from the both of you.

P.S. Note to jules: Please don't wear down Cris Taliana too fast either! j/k

Yeah, I just wanted to make a few comments about this thread:

First, I worked last summer, and only took off 6 days in about 8 weeks, just like Amee. I was a pizza delivery guy. I cracked b/c of not having any time off, and I threw a pepperoni pizza at one of my customers doors b/c of a shitty tip. So ya know, you need time off. BTW, I've still got that job.

Secondly, I love the subliminal messages between jules and Amee. I can just feel Amee's a little pissed about something with FH4. Also, my DVD copy of FH4 is in the mail, so I can't wait to watch her scene, as well as the other 4.

Thirdly, I love when Jules comes on ADT and sets shit straight. No one puts on better posts than him.

Fourthly, keep up the good work Amee.

Later!!!

Amee,
You are obviously a very determined young lady. I applaud your attitude and wish you every success. There have been numerous threads related to you on this board which I have yet to work my way through, so if this question has already been asked feel free to point me to the existing answer.

In threads not specific to you, it has been stated that various organizations exist to help young starlets such as yourself deal with the realities of the porn world. I was wondering if any person you worked with, or company you worked, for ever informed you of these. In other words, is the support system we have been assured is in place actually promoted by the industry and used by its intended audience?

Regards,

Hardware

PS - I agree, your smile is probably your best asset (not that I'm complaining about the rest. )

When I read Amee's litany of medical maladies I thought that she was trying to do too much in a short period of time. Jules confirmed that. If a performer preps her body for anal and the other high risk acts associated every day, she's going to starve to death or destroy her digestive system by cleaning out all the good bacteria that's needed. I've been to Tristan Taormino's website and she is very informative about such things. A glimpse into the preparation was also provided by Belladonna in her notorious interview. Skip the prep and you become susceptible to bacterial infections such as Amee encountered. You would think that somebody would have pulled her coat on the subject.

i worked with lex in nasty nymphos 35, and gangbang auditions (which wont be out for a bit)

AIM is the one company i can think of that has support groups and the such for people in the industry.

Hey Amee, I was wondering about your thoughts on a subject. Porn is kind of like a spectrum, with Feature movies and companies like Wicked/Vivid/JKP on one end, and the gonzo/all sex faction like RLD/Evil Angel/A/D on the other. I was wondering what your thoughts are on companies like Vivid/Wicked/VCA? What do you think of those types of movies, as compared to gonzo? Would you ever consider becoming a contract girl for one of those studios? Thanks.

Amee ... You are such a cool chick for hanging out here. Thanks for the astonishing honesty. I really hope you find all your porno dreams coming true. Keep it real, baby! But take care of yourself. You are a beautiful human being.
