Each night they showed a few hours of unscrambled but edited and fairly explicit soft-x previews of xxx features and ads, then switched to scrambling and showed unedited features overnight. The in-the-clear edited porn portion was indeed controversial.

It was shut down after a family in I believe Alabama or thereabouts reported to the authorities that their underage child viewed the programming; the uplinker and satellite operator were contacted and threatened with legal action (a Sprint or Western Union satellite was used at the time, IIRC) and the plug was pulled. They resurfaced later under a similar name on a Canadian satellite at first, then died off as small DBS dishes appeared in the 90's.

If you search under that name and other mis-spellings in the Google Groups Usenet archive in 80's and 90's satellite groups, there's quite a lot posted. There was also FUN -- the Fantasy Unrestricted Network for a time, and others serving the lodging industry.
