This movie looks too good to be true lol. I'm assuming since it is a "couples" flick that automatically means the scenes will be in slow motion, have music drowning out the natural sounds and have scenes that last not more than 12 minutes.Lol. Probably will be like the Playgirl movies. It's a scientifically known fact, that if you watch porn with a sexual partner of oposing sex, you develop a liking in porn for cateract-like soft focus imagery, slow motion (which immediately reads "tender" and "seductive"), and terrible music being played over the act of fucking (which in this context is considered "Lovemaking"). Also, "lovemaking" can last no lesser time than ten minutes, and no longer time than twelve. It is law.
lol. At least Sweet Sinner is a studio that has the right idea on how to do a scene right. 99% of the rest of the stuff out there is either: A) "gonzo" filmed in a way and under cicrumstances that are not ideal for true, hot sex or, the other extreme B) Playgirl stuff that involves the slow motion, music overdubbed, 12 minute scenes. But like I said, there is a chance this Tori Black movie may be different. But I won't get my hopes up.
^ When was the last time y'all watched a "couples" movie?? Doesn't bare any resemblance to the stuff I'm watching. Guess it depends how you define "couples" but the only slo-mo, soft focus, music-heavy porn I've seen is Playgirl, and that Ninn/Blake stuff (can't remember which guy).
well, Penthouse and Wicked are also studios that put out a ton of stuff that *looks* amazing and then you watch it and the scenes are 12 minutes long. Seems like in most cases if you prefer 30 minute scenes with minimal cuts/edits, you have to watch "gonzo" stuff that is usually done in poor/mediocre taste and has dudes like mark Ashley in them. But, I hope were seeing a turn of the tide with stuff like Sweet Sinner puts out. I'm just not going to get my hopes up even though this movie seems to have so much promise.
^ I was referring predominantly to Wicked. I actually timed the sex scenes in 2040 and they were all around 24 minutes. The 20 min mark, in my experience, is about the average for so-called "couples" films. Movies from the 70s/80s tend to be shorter. I like diversity, though, so I'm happy there is a breadth of scene lengths to suit all tastes. I actually wish the Wicked scenes were shorter, but that's just me.
Why do you prefer shorter scenes? Can't you just skip to the next spot if you're wanting to move ahead? You could make the scenes as short as you like with DVD technology. Wicked tends to put out stuff that gets me excited but both the short length of scenes and the ridiculous amount of scenes with Randy spears and Eric masterson dull my interest.
^ I sometimes fast-forward, but I would like to feel like I'm watching a complete package where the sex scene is interesting enough to hold my attention. Let's take Babyface 2 as an example. I think the last sex scene lasts for 40 minutes or some kind of ridiculous amount of time, but the three times I've watched it over the last couple of weeks I have been glued to the screen. I just wish today's features were integrated into the narrative better, weren't so formulaic, and that each scene differed in length (some scenes 5-10 minutes, if they're just a little narrative development; other scenes 20, 30, even 40 minutes depending on what they're "for"). Of course, not every porn movie can have Jamie Gillis climbing out of a cake, doing a striptease while smoking a cigar, and then putting a demonic sex spell on all the women in the room. Nice to aspire to it though...
I agree with you about things often seeming formulaic. Thins go downhill when a director thinks we "have" to see a certain position or get a certain angle etc. Let things flow naturally and get out of the way would be good advice for a director.
