Why has the visual quality of interactive porn decreased so much? No offense to any of the performers, but comparing the sensual settings and glossy quality of earlier 3rd Degree and Zero Tolerance products (Alektra Blue, Bree Olsen, Jenna Haze) to more recent releases, everything seems to have grown more dingy and cheap. Why do so many directors use exclusively genital close-ups for the alternate angle? I realize that some people like that sort of thing, but most "regular" porn caters for it, and the whole point of an interactive title is to be able to see the whole of the female performer all the time. Rather use a long shot showing face and body in one and hold steady rather than panning up and down. See "My Plaything" series for good examples of how it should be done (though some of the recent ones have also fallen prey to the extreme genital close-up tendency, severely detracting from the quality). A sideways long shot also lends a scene an unexpected but enjoyable voyeuristic quality...don't tell me I'm the only one who's noticed (and appreciated) this. Why pan away from the woman's face at the moment of (her) orgasm? Is nothing sacred to you?! Why not differentiate a bit more clearly between "naughty" and "nice" modes? There should be an unambiguous distinction between innocence/sweetness on one hand and control/sluttiness on the other. Having the performer use the same "dirty talk" in both modes is wasteful. Difference in mode should involve more than just a change in setting or outfit. Why not use only male performers with really big, good-looking dicks? Obviously this part of a scene is not my main point of focus, but it's remarkable how the sight of an unattractive piece of genitalia can spoil one's enjoyment. The best one I've seen so far belongs to the guy who gets the blowjob in the Bree Olsen interactive. Don't know his name, but he's also in the 3rd Degree picture with Alektra Blue. Speaking of which... Why oh why not do another interactive with Alektra Blue? Her missionary and doggy scenes are the best I've seen, and I'd love to see more of the same. C'mon, if Jenna Jameson can do a follow-up to her "Plaything" title, surely 3rd Degree can do the same for Alektra as well. [Link] |

| j_daddy Member 84 Posts 7/09 | I've always thought the Interactive genre had a lot of potential, but that the people putting the interactive movies together were clueless as to how to get it done properly. The early "My Plaything" discs were glossy, sensual, generally had good camera angles and big stars, but were boring as fuck. The sex was almost always incredibly lame, and the fake popshots destroyed just about everything. The "Virtual Sex with" series was always a little less good than the "Plaything discs." The plain black backdrop was boring and dumb, both series lacked any sort of extras, and the Virtual Sex series even lacked masturbation segments. I'd say Quasar was the first guy to actually put any sort of "hot sex" into an interactive movie. The Bree Olson, Jenna Haze, Lisa Ann and Courtney Cummz "Interactive Sex With" discs were scorching, though they lacked any sort of real interactive menu. They were almost like "pop shot is easily accessible" POV movies, though the amount of extras squeezed onto every disc (along with the bonus discs) was generous. Zero Tolerance also fixed the fake cum shot problem, even adding what look like real cream pies to the majority of scenes. The latest Alexis Texas disc is good, better menu selection, and I thought the video quality was pretty high. I didn't like how it was all smeared out over two discs, but for 25 bucks it was a good deal. The latest "My Plaything" discs are a step in the right direction-better sex, real popshots, but you are right about the angles. Absolutely horrible. For me the best view of sex involved penetrations and seeing a girls face at the same time. I don't know why you'd use a roving camera angle (penetration, up to stomach and tits, finally the face, and then back down) and then choose a penetration close up as the second angle. That's on the new Gianna My Plaything disc, and it's a fucking waste. Stupid stupid directing. The attempts by VIvid to do interactive discs are almost comical they are so bad. Lame sex, worse camera angles . . . the Luv Twins DVD has a beautiful closeup of a thigh for a few seconds. Why just a thigh sitting there? Who knows? It's called editing, they teach it at most community colleges. Super hot actresses with dirty mouths (a must for interactive) are wasted in a lot of interactive discs. The Tabitha Stevens set is almost nothing but menus and Tabitha saying "So . . you've chosen me to give you a blowjob." It all sound so dumb that you no longer want to jerkoff. |

You'd only find it insulting, if you think homosexuality is inherently wrong. Edited by - Dubious_Leftovers on 5/11/2010 7:55:39 PM |

For the record I don't care if someone is gay, but don't put it directly in my face by fucking another man in front of me. Two women are welcome to do whatever they want to each other sexually (and that is the way most Michigan residents feel). |
