P.S. I have a hard time reading Luke. This guy is prime example of a walking contradiction. He is intreviewing porn stars and then he's saying that his hobby is against his religion. I thought Lex was bad. I can't trust Luke's sincerity or honesty on many levels. I rarely read his interviews.

There are some former porn stars in Germany who often had and have public scenes (interviews etc.) on TV.
Think of Gina Wild or Dolly Buster!
But it’s hard to go to the nitty-gritty on TV.
Legal protection for kids you know…

It's still not bad though. I got drunk on my birthday once in Prinzlauerberg. And they had great jazz, too.

I was surprised by Katja's comment, too, but I think maybe we should make a distinction. Just because the sex industry is more public and legal in Germany does not mean the middle-class thinks any better of people who do sex work. And places like Berlin, Frankfurt or Hamburg may be a little different because they are major cities, with very high-profile sex environments.

This is my personal experience from my life knowing the people I know and living in Eastern Germany. I'm not saying this is anything more than my personal report about what I've been through and what I experienced.

The ones that have been following my career and have been reading my comments on this board know that I tried to get into porn in Germany and Europe but I was rejected many, many times because they didn't like my big ass and my looks in general. It's many different reasons why I now live in the US: personal, financial, professional reasons plus the weather is much nicer in California.

I always felt like my home town with half a million people living there was too tight for me. I always wanted to go far away, since I was 12 years old. But that's pretty much in my nature and doesn't have so much to do with anything else. Sometimes you just can't stand staying in the same place for all your life.

The only people who truly appreciate America are those who read up on other countries and know the difference and those from other countries who come here and experience the difference.

I've never felt a day of oppression in America. Not one day the entire thirty six years I've lived here. Never have understood people's dislike of one of the best run, best protected, and most economically prosperous nations in the world.

I'm really happy to finally read an interview with a foreign born person like Katja who loves the USA. I'm tired of all the whiny folks who try to put the USA down and attack us with rubbish lies about how it really is to live here.

What is the form of government in Germany?

However, Katja’s description about her home country is not the place where I live. It is totally different!
But I reside not soooooo far away from the Dutch border.
Maybe we are cooler because we are half Dutch? lol

I presume that you spend most of your time in Chatsworth, and other parts of LA. And also that you have visited other parts of America doing appearances and that sort of thing…

So I think we can all agree that folks in the greater Los Angeles area are going to have a more tolerant attitude towards porn and porn people. Have you noticed different attitudes elsewhere in the states? I wonder if, when doing appearances elsewhere, you mostly encounter people who are fans, involved in adult businesses or are otherwise sympathetic to what you do for a living.

and I also wonder what you remember when the Berlin Wall came down in 1989; you must have been a kid then, but do you remember a sense of euphoria or fear or something else entirely when your early life was spent in the Eastern Bloc, and then all of sudden Germany was reunited? was it disorienting?

You can't possible imagine how crazy it was when the wall came down. I remember it very well. It's a 9/11 kind of experience. Something you watch on TV unfolding and you think it just can't be true. It was very unreal and I can't describe it with words. In my town Leipzig half a million people were on the streets peacefully protesting with flowers and candles in their hands hoping the communist regime wouldn't drive up with big tanks and armed soldiers.
It was also very emotional because many families who were separated for over 4 decades could finally reunite.
The German reunion also created severe economic problems and still until this day people from the former West and the former East don't really feel like one whole nation.
