Two things:
First - I will never buy or rent another dvd from any company. I'm sick of popping a disc into my player (blu ray, dvd or PC disc drive) only to find that it freezes up during a layer change...or that it won't play at all...or that there's a bullshit file in it so that I can't save the movie into a hard drive (I bought or rented the fuckin' thing, I should be able to watch it whenever I want to).
Therefore...you companies out there won't be getting my money through discs anymore, that's for sure. It's over.
Second - Porn needs an itunes like web site where ALL the companies can put their movies/scenes up for download. Pay per movie or a few bucks per scene, whatever. There are too many companies with not enough good sites to download form. Kink is really good for having mp4's with unlimited downlaods and timely, weekly updates. Evil Angel is pretty good too. All their NEW movies are available when they come out on disc. Brazzers seems to be on top of things as well. If they can do it with streaming sites like AEBN or hotmovies, why not download to own as well?
Elegant Angel: Lagging behind. When a new disc is released it should be available to download, not one scene every few months. They are on my shit list.
For the time being a few choice sites will get my money, the rest can go down the fuckin' toilet for all I care. They created this shit, now live with it. Sink or swim. If thee companies are going to push us away from discs they better have their shit together when it comes to their web sites, unfortunately most of them do not.
I've made up my mind, no more dvd's for me, it's over. Fuck them.
Again...Porn needs an itunes like site where ALL companies movies/scenes are in available in hi-def.

The content industry, which includes the porn industry is still trying to push a long dead buisness model which is only pushing more and more people to piracy.
At least there are a few companies in the game industry that heave realized that making thing harder for paying customers then pirates only pushes people to pirate.

I stoped buying DVDs too. But mostly because i don´t have the time to watch them and the space to store them. Years ago i was trying to rip the ones who wouldn´t play on any player correctly. I failed due to a couple of reasons. Now i have a lot of dvds i haven´t even watched. As you get older somehow you don´t have the time and nerv for a couple of things and you forgot how you managed in the past.
I stoped renting too because the abillity to watch the stuff when i want was taken away by copy protection ... and i don´t go the Blue Ray road either.
But no one cares about a few people so we are colateral damage for any industry.
Cinema - and i´m talking about mainstream has fucked us too. I don´t know if you can always choose what kind of version you want to see either 2D or 3D where you live. I want to be able to choose and not be forced to watch something i don´t want to. As you can imagine i have not seen a lot of movies because they do no let me choose !
