Why does this studio's dvds have consistently high prices? Especially compared to.. say.. Redlightdistrict who make similar movies.

Also their movie prices stay high even for older titles. Most other studios dvds seem to lose value over time.

I can perhaps understand 'Wicked' or 'Evil Angel' being more expensive as they seem to put more effort/time/money into their product.

If they're emptying their warehouses at the prices they set, what reason would Anabolic have to lower them? Obviously, they're getting their price and are happy with the numbers they sell. Evil Angel has even higher prices, with no discounts on older titles that I've seen. They probably sell more units than anyone. When people keep dropping prices in response to the competition they end up not making enough money to pay for quality craftsmen or performers. Sometimes it's best to stand your ground and let the consumers decide whether they want a good product or a good price.

To amplify on picman, Ana/Diabolic has an excellent catalog and according to someone I know who used to be in the dealer business, he says even the old stuff still sells. Why lower the price if that's the case?

So is it fair to say that Anabolic/Diabolic is more sought after than Redlightdistrict/Platinum X?

Would you say their movies are better?

Go to 40th and 8th, downstairs from the subway entrance on the SW side: Ana/Dia sells for $18 or $20 a pop (no tax if you pay cash). Older titles are about $16, I think.
