I just wanted to point out what I consider to be a great step in the right direction for Anabolic. I bought Raul Cristian's new Anal Asspirations 02 and from the menu you have the option of choosing to veiw the film with or WITHOUT the music. Excellent decision!! I've always been rather negative poised when it comes down to music soundtracks so this is just great...you can listen only to the girl and the guy as they get involved in a passionate sex scene.

Please, continue this trend Raul/Anabolic!!

For other companies/producers that might be reading...it will be great if you could follow up and offer the music as only being "optional".

Why not exclude music during scenes all together? I personally don't see the point of using music.

+1

Also, on the latest Bring Um Young (#20), even if you choose "Music Off", you STILL HEAR IT in the background. Extremely annoying.

Actually yes, because you could at least hear the slapping of meat even if there's no loud moaning.

I am in total agreement with this. Even during tease segments I prefer NO music. I want to hear every click of a stiletto heel on a hardwood floor, every sigh by the cameraman who's overwhelmed by the beauty of the girl showing off for the camera, every little sound that ordinarily just gets drowned out by any kind of background music.

One recent example of particularly annoying background music:
The tease portions of Boobaholics Anonymous are damned near ruined because of this ridiculously bombastic bass-heavy background music that's used for EVERY scene in the movie. I wonder if Mike John knew the editor was doing this - I find it difficult to believe. Mike is usually pretty meticulous about this kind of thing.

I hope everybody starts doing this. One of the biggest complaints I get from my female friends that have tried viewing porn then quit, is the "silly music." It's enough to throw somebody completely out of the mood if it's too loud or too porny.

It's hard to believe it's taken this long. Now if they can just figure out a way to make the picture optional...

Amazingly, 8 posts into this thread, and nobody has pointed out yet that they've been using the MUSIC ON / OFF option on 80% (or even more) of their releases for 2 (?) years now.
Seems like Ana/Dia is not the forum's fave...

Anyway,I agree it's really great to enjoy it without Toby the Viking. I systematically switch it off, and I wish the (pre-option) works of Lecastel, Mike John, Vouyer, Everhard would be re-released with the option added.

You're making a a couple of assumptions, to whit, that there's sound being recorded at the time of filming, and that the recording isn't total crap. Given the low technical standards of most porn I question the validity of those assumptions.

It's much harder to record clean sound. There's no "out of frame" for a microphone.

Music helps mask the breathing noises make by the slob who is holding the camera.

I was getting there. I was like, "Where have you guys been? This isn't new." Like Wodgers said, they've had this option on their DVDs for years now and I've always thought it a good idea and one others should seek to implement.

Maybe in 2008 we'll see a thread about ZT/3D's spanish language tracks. Or did I just let the cat outta the bag?

Here is a thread I started a few months ago on this topic:
DVD Suggestion: Music On/Off

Anabolic/Diabolic are the only company that I have seen offer this feature. They offer it on more recent releases, but not on older ones. Luckily, the music on their older DVDs is not too loud. I wish other companies would follow their lead. Apparently, this isn't that difficult to implement.

If a movie had already been released with a music soundtrack (for example, a movie from the 90s), would it still be easy to offer this feature in the DVD release?
It seems the older the movie, the cheesier and louder the music.

Are you just posting for the sake of making a comment or you actually own a large portion of Anaboilic's early catalog titles. I ask because just as Walter points out their early releases DO NOT offer the option of turning the music off. I own a fairly large number of their early releases and can vouch for what I have written above (Walter...I did a search and your thread did not come up....sorry).

By the way...Private DEFINITELY NEED TO INCLUDE THIS OPTION for their DVD releases.

The worst is when the music has lyrics. I think I remember gansta bang 8, definitely out of place.

That's what I wrote. They started it for their NEW releases circa 2003 (most of their top directors had all gone or were leaving). The 20% of post-2003 discs that don't include the option are rereleases of ancient material (Nasty Girls, Nasty Nymphos) etc...

I've noticed this on several Anabolic releases and it's great... music was ok back in the 70s when it was funky and REAL studio musicians created it... it was still cheap but at least it wasn't cheap home-made trance, house or your brothers lousy garage band... Focus on the fucking ffs...

I love this feature. I like to hear what the performers say during the scene and nothing else. I think other studios should adopt this feature. It is pretty simple. If you want music, you got it. If you don't you don't. Who could argue with choice?

Music in porn is passe. It's fine at the beggining during the tease, to get the blood pumping.
But lets be frank here. The music is usually the same loop over and over.
It's kind of tedious imo.
I like how Sineplex has the music at the beggining, and they know the right time to fade it out.

I might be almost alone in this but I don't always hate the music. Yes it's repetitive, and sometimes, maybe often, maybe almost always, cheesy. But sometimes it's unobtrusive and enhances the scene. I offer the Sophie Evans scene in Jules Jordan's DNA and the Majella and Mandingo scene in Chasing the Big Ones 13 as examples.

Having the option of turning it off is great but i don't think I would always exercise it.
