Gonzo is anal driven? Since when? Gonzo is a style. Series like BangBus which may or may not have anal are also gonzo. Gonzo is simply cheaper to make than traditional feature porn. No scipts, lines, inept acting, and sets. Just film a little talking (maybe), maybe a little tease, then sex. At most gonzo is personality driven, but many times not even that. The growth of gonzo is probably just cost.
If anything, gonzo could be more offensive to the mainstream, low volume porn viewer. It does not even give the pretense of a story, just plain sex. The reality of the situation is unavoidable.

Is the shear volume of anal scenes too much for some? That is a totally different question. But the points you bring up just confuse the issue.
