Who likes it? Who hates it?.

Can you please share your experiences/tips you may have.

I'm particularly interested in the views of women, what are your opinions about Anal sex.
-Do you enjoy it?
-Do you hate?
-Do you refuse to try it?
-When did you lose your "Anal virginity"

Is Anal Sex still a big TABOO?

P.S Only straight people post here.

Thanks.

Well, we aren't limiting the responses to straight people!

I enjoy it. It was my idea. First time was about 25 years ago. We don't do really deep, slamming, fast anal, and not particularly often. It doesn't really seem taboo.

Thanks for your response, I'm glad your enjoying it, your partner is a very lucky guy.

Anal sex amongst heterosexual couples remains very much a taboo and embarrassing subject to talk about.

I know from my own personal experiences, when I suggested to my ex-girlfriend we try anal, she was very much against it. Which really disappointed me, because she's wasn't frigid type and she really had a gorgeous ass.

Lindi I'm curious to know as a woman how is anal sex enjoyable for you? as opposed to being painful so many women fear it to be?

Doggystyle, take a look at the Sex Talk FAQ. There are a number of links to discussions on anal sex. Of particular interest is Jack Moran's article.

When done properly anal sex should not be painful. The key to enjoyable anal sex is the ability to relax the spincter muscles. Preparation and lube are important.

If you want to overcome the taboo with a partner, try initiating a little anal play with fingers during oral sex. Incorporate fingers and toys into your masturbation sessions and get to know your own response. This will help when you are ready to try anal sex with a partner.

RobHammer speaks the truth!

When you know the preparations and sensations yourself, you are better able to give good anal with a partner. There is more empathy at that point, whereas most men just do not understand what all is involved when it comes to good anal sex.

As for your g/f, Doggystyle, it helps to work in anal play over time, such as moving from cunnilingus to analingus and see how she responds. Later, see how feels when simply massaging the anus with your finger while stimulating her clitoris. And then later, you might see how she repsonds with finger penetration, also while stimulating her clit. With time, patience and play, you both might discover the joys of anal sex! :)

I enjoy it, I have stronger orgasms from anal. I lost my anal virginity when I was 17 years old (I'm 32 now). It's not taboo for me or my partner.

Mr. finger then Mr. Winky. Start off little and then go big. Talking about it just makes things more weird to an already difficult conversation. Most girls at least the one's who I have been with and known don't know or talk about a lot of sex stuff (with guys). That's where doing becomes a must and talking is something that becomes a don't. I asked a girl one time for anal and she said hell no. That same girl gave in a few weeks later after mr. finger was used and then I slipped mr. winky in the back door. She was a pretty surprised and little pissed but after some slow moves she was getting into it. Basically it comes down to knowing your girl and getting her primed good enough so that she won't care. I mean do you do anything during sex that you can't see yourself doing? I have..hehe

I was going to say the same thing. So I will.

A little wet pinky finger, gradually inserted, while you are going down on her. This should have her hyperventilating and thinking that she is going to faint.

Not a big discussion about things.

It has to be all about her pleasure.

But nothing should be abrupt -- she has a right to have a moment of knowing what's about to happen, and has a right to say no.

If she likes it, don't be surprised if she slips a finger into you .

The most important things with anal are to take it slow and listen to your partner. Start with a little tongue while going down on her. It's not nearly as threatening and a nice way to work up to mr. finger. Also, get a small buttplug or some step-up anal beads (which often start out quite small).

You have the same equipment necessary to enjoy anal as she does, and actually more. If you want to get to the male G-spot you can either go through the ass or have surgery. Let her work on you too as you'll be able to learn about speed, size, and the other things which matter in anal. For many women who enjoy anal, you'll also probably really turn her on. If you're not at all open to her doing something you can both experience to you, then why should she let you do it to her?

I'll still suggest a pinkie finger rather than a tongue, depending on the woman. A lot of women are obsessed with cleaniness or how they might smell, and might put off by a tongue on their anus, while a finger might not concern them.

Here is a reprint of Lindi Burke's October 2003 column at Inside The Lair (this now links to Simply Jimmy D):

Anal Adventures!

I love the old Kinsey Report. For its time (1948) it was shocking because it revealed that almost 50% of married couples had tried oral sex. And 30% of them had tried positions other than missionary position.

Now we look back and can't believe that 70% had never tried anything BUT missionary position. Everything seems to be out in the open for us; we have achieved the pinnacle of sexual freedom. We've got threesomes and S & M. We can chuckle at our ancestors who thought that for a woman to show her ankles was daring. We muse that anyone can ever have believed that masturbation might cause hairy palms and blindness.

And yet... we have plenty of inhibitions of our own. Case in point: the man who avoids having anything near his anus. Upon hearing the suggestion, he boldly displays a cross formed with both his index fingers, and inches stealthily backward toward the nearest exit. This is not the casual, "No, I don't think so," of a guy who's toyed with anal stimulation and simply prefers having his balls sucked. This is the denial of a guy whose mom told him everything back there was disgusting, and who is afraid it might hurt or that it might make him gay.

Susie Bright had a wonderful comment on this topic:

[Anal titillation is also just as much about not quite doing it it as it is about complete penetration. I had a brief affair a few years ago with a man much younger than me who bolted upright over my body when I first reached around to cup his cheeks. "You aren't going to do anything there," he said, like a pulp-novel virgin. "Well, I didn't have any agenda, but now that you've got me interested," I said. He begged me to promise I wouldn't slip anything in, not even a pinky. His cock was hard as a rock as he entered me. I couldn't resist -- I had to see -- so I said, "What if I just put my hand OVER it, what if my fingers are right NEXT to it?" He was delirious with the almost-but-not-quite possibilities.]*

Okay, so mom said it was disgusting back there. She had to! Little kids don't wash their hands! Yuck! Assuming that as adults we are familiar with soap, those inhibitions about a 'dirty' asshole aren't that useful anymore. It's just another body part, like an elbow or a dick, to enjoy as we please.

Does it make a guy gay? Blow jobs are more common among gays than anal sex is, and that doesn't stop anyone I know from getting a blowjob. Men and women, gay or straight, who like anal stimulation, like it because there are a lot of sensitive nerve endings there, and the anal area is a center of orgasmic contractions. On top of that, for men, the prostate can be a rich source of pleasure.

Or, maybe it will hurt. Our early training was to keep the area tight and tense, not to "let go" back there. The first time we try a finger it might hurt, generally because the area is too tense. Comfortable insertion is achieved through relaxation, not stretching.**

Take it easy, nobody's going to make you put things up your ass. But recognize that it's an inhibition, like the previous ones against oral sex, masturbation, and sex in positions other than missionary. Nobody is going to make you do those things either -- but it's nice to know that you can, and lightning won't strike.

A long time ago in one of the many discussions on anal sex, Tricia said "a girl can't pretend she likes anal sex". Since then I've always took this into account when I'm watching porn. It's like even more of a turn on for me now.

I've done this once with a ex girlfriend but it was soooooo lame. I honestly didn't want to do it after about 2 minutes of mixed signals and uncertainty. I'm sure it can be great but I have yet to experience this.

Not necessarily. Many women find vaginal intercourse painful/uncomfortable the very first time but they generally give it a few more tries and find it's not so bad.

w/ my wife anal sex can be great but not always. I love to eat her pussy & ass ---yumyum give me some--sometimes she is really into it & can't get enough of the deep hard pounding but sometimes she will have nothing to do with it. she really loves it when I'm in her ass & I'm fucking her pussy with a dildo. go for the DP on her guys!! she'll love it!

Now I am probably going to get booed for this one but I will anyways.....just 'cause it is my opinion.....I have to ask the question "WHY?" When there is such a lovely, lubricated, hot, slippery, and specially designed for a penis, spot a mere inch or so away????? I have tried it, several times, and have to say that it did not do anything wonderful for me. Rather a waste of a lovely erection I thought.....I have a much better place to place a cock!!!

That's not strange, shelby, or even unusual.

In fact, there was a poll on pussy or anal, and most of the guys prefer pussy. Even among guys who prefer anal in porn, it is common to prefer the feel of pussy in daily life.

I love it both ways. Anal adds variety. Love the feeling of bouncing my hips against the lovely gal's meaty buttocks while her muscular sphincter squeezes my pole. Plus, it's dirty and naughty. Filthy sex is fun as Hell! I wanna try EVERYTHING. I don't wanta lie on my deathbed and say, "Damn, I didn't try anal sex."

I enjoy. Lots.
I'd sooner give up breathing!
I think I was 20 with a girl at university whom I became close to. She knew I liked porn and anal sex before she started dating me but I'm so fucking gorgeous she still couldn't help herself It took a long time before I actually got what my little heart desired and it wasn't that great because she really couldn't relax enough. I think she had big hang ups about it to be honest; when I first went down on her she'd sprayed her pussy with so much deodorant she tasted too bitter for me to carry on and I just think she felt very self conscious about her private parts and that held her back.
I think it is still a taboo but a lot less of one than it used to be. Things seem to have changed very quickly with this and the numbers of mainstream references seem to have gone up dramatically the last few years. Where I think it is more of a taboo is not so much with regard to people joking or talking generally about it but with people, women especially, admitting to liking it, or at least doing it. As a case in point my own girlfriend who has done it with me regularly for about 8 years has told me before that she has denied ever doing it in conversations, even with other girls who have admitted to her that they have tried it.

I'll say that a lot of people keep their sex lives secret whether it's about anal sex or whatever. That's why I never ask anything sexual when I'm begining to date someone. I rather just do it and see how it turns out. Though some might find this weird, I do feel it works for me with the proper probing that is. Anal is great but it isn't as quick as vaginal (meaning you just can't stick it in) nor as talked about. And like what you said S.N.P. I find a lot of people don't admit to doing anal sex. Both guys and girls. Though I don't talk to a alot of girls about anal sex the one's I have dated or are friends with deny ever doing it or wanting to try it, save one. One girl who I have known for ever is very open about it. I'm still trying to tag her ass!! hehe.
