Hey everyone,

I am currently looking for films and directors that have a similar vision to Andrew Blake. His craft has a rather illusive take on porn and I would like to know if other directors have the same approach or if there are certain films that are similar to his. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm no expert on Blake, but I've watched a few of his films, including High Heels and Pin-ups 2. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but for me, I was looking for g/g content, and here are some of elements that I think of as distinct: high production value (cinematography, wardrobe, etc.), good music, beautiful women (with emphasis on beauty, not blatant sexual appeal), semi-softcore (realistic sex is not the point). I made some screencaps of a scene from High Heels that captures some of these.

To me, there really isn't anyone with the same sort of vision as Blake today (as far as g/g content goes), especially when it comes to the semi-softcore aspect of it. The closest is probably Andrej Lupin from Sex Art. You can read my reviews of many of his g/g scenes on this thread. In Lupin's best scenes, I think he matches Blake's emphasis on high production value, beauty, and music (though unlike Blake's jazz, Lupin's music is more pop). The scenes with Stella Cardo and Katy Rose, Katy Rose and Sybil, Alexis Crystal and Emylia Argan (my reviews of which are on the second page of that thread), imo, are some of the best.

Try the films directed by Cameron Grant:

Dinner Party (1994)
Elements of Desire (1994)
Erotic Visions (1995)
Fantasy Chamber (1994)
Passion in Venice (1995)
Shameless Desire (1997)

Another element of his that I forgot to mention the first time: he seems to like quasi-fetish/bdsm style quite a bit. Not real BDSM, but the women are sometimes dressed up to look in those ways. For example, below are some screencaps from "Private Property" (1993) between Celeste (one of the bigger stars of the 90s) and Draghixa (French girl with a hundred pseudonyms), with Celeste dressed up as the "mistress" and Draghixa as the submissive. Yeah this seems to be filmed on location in Paris. Aesthetically it looks beautiful, but as I mentioned previously, just pose-sex (so to speak), not real sex.

And holy hell just how elegant and gorgeous Celeste looks! Keep in mind this video is 30 years old!

Here are some contemporary scenes that somewhat fit that model.

"Presence" with Stella Cardo and Venera from Sex Art, directed by Andrej Lupin

"Be Mine 2" with Tracy Lindsay and Mango from Sex Art, directed by Alis Locanta

"Be Mine 3" with Silvie Luca & Amarna Miller from Sex Art, directed by Alis Locanta

"Learning Curve - First Time Being Dominated" from Viv Thomas with Amber Nevada & Amarna Miller, directed by Guy Ranieri Sblattero

"Truth or Dare - Avouch" from Viv Thomas with Leila Smith & Julia Roca, directed by Guy Ranieri Sblattero

All the above scenes are "soft dom" so to speak with ultra-gorgeous women playing bdsm with each other, but the sex, unlike those in Andrew Blake, is very much real. You should be able to play the trailers for these scenes.

Another example is from Slayed, a scene titled "Dressage" with Vicki Chase and Kazumi, directed by KGB (hopefully not a pseudonym for Vladimir Putin 😂). Also some quasi-bdsm elements with gorgeous women, but even harder and more real sex. I'm not sure if the preview will play for this scene; if not, you can look at my review of the scene which has some screencaps.

Yes, that's what I appreciate about his films, the quality of his cinematography, wardrobe and music, it all meshes well and adds a unique style to his quasi-fetish/bdsm fantasies. Sadly, not a lot of directors take this approach and rather shoot a fast scene for easy bucks. But I prefer the build up and how everything plays out in the scene plus the quasi-fetish/bdsm is really nice. I was actually looking for g/g content too because thats what I'm into so I appreciate the recommendations you've sent and I will definitely check them out.

Also, Celeste is really gorgeous just looking at those pics, wow, breathtaking.

^ Michael Ninn also has a similar style. Films like Latex (1995) and Sex (1994).

Ah yes, Michael Ninn, I've heard of him before. I saw Forever night (1998) recently. Never got the chance to check those other two films out though.
