Rumplestilt Skin Deactivated User 931 Posts 7/02	Posted - Oct 28 2002 : 7:31AM I normally try to avoid compilations because from my experience they're generally not as good as proper features and often if you buy say three or more compilation dvds, you invariably get the same scenes recurring. Metro for one! Trying to spot the compilation dvd when you're shopping on the 'Net can be tricky: companies like to dress them up as if they're not compilations. I always visit www.rame.net and if it's not there then it's generally a comp! Another point is these often dire compilations are over-priced. I've seen the same "movie" from as little as $3.95 and as much as $29.95. I'd like to know your thoughts: what do the rest of you think of compilation dvds? Regards, Rump. [Link]

The best comps are probably Private Life of's... they don't seem to have edited down scenes. They also frequently fail to select the better scenes, I've never understood this. And the pricing can be ridiculously high for recycled product. I also agree that the Private Life series is the one noticeable exception. They are very well done! [Link]

I do like the comps that focus on a single star, (i.e. the deep inside series) that way I get what I want to see from the star I want to see it from with out all of the b.s. talking / acting going on. balabala Member 968 Posts 8/02	Posted - Oct 28 2002 : 2:30PM I have a few movies of the Private Life of series: -Cassandra Wilde -Nikki Anderson -Sophie Evans -Wanda Curtis And all I can say is that I am pretty satisfied about them. None of them have any edited scenes as far as I can tell and the fact that it is a double disc compilation is like sugar on top. I'm just waiting on the DVD release of Private Life of Claudia Ricci and Private Life Lynn Stone to add them to my collection. :) [Link]

At first I thought there were too many crappy scenes and everything looked gross and everything was cut too much - basically a waste of money. But I've changed my mind, cause I usually find that I really like about 7 scenes and I kinda like about 11, which is a much higher number than yer regular feature. I can also add my own imaginary context to the scenes. [Link]

I've mostly have experience with medium to lower end comps, so keep that in mind with these comments. I used to buy comps at the local brick and mortar store because they were cheap (less than $20) when compared to a $50 "feature" film, and online DVD retailers didn't exist at that time. Obviously, times have changed. I used to, and still do, get free comps from Fivestar when I order whatever volume it takes to get the free stuff. Funny thing is, the free comps I get (Zane: Ravage My Ass/Positively Dangerous, Knob Ryder: A Hole in 2, Mojo: Biggest Cocks Meet Tightest Pussies) are actually sometimes halfway decent relatively speaking. I'll admit, I've actually bought a few comps from Fivestar, thinking I could pick a winner, and boy was I wrong. I bought a similar Zane title to the one I got for free and it was worthless, along with an Video Team/Overtime title. I've come to the conclusion, you never know how good a comp can be until you sit down and watch it. No one writes a review of them because, we'll, a lot of them just plain suck, and all the scenes have probably been covered somewhere else. A lot of it is personal preference - like older scences?, edited segments?, lower tier actors?, etc. Bottom line, they were good when I was a beginner, but now it's all top shelf goods for me! [Link]

Saw a comp from VideoTeam featuring Kitten. Picture quality is very good and if you are a fan of her you get 4hours for 13 bucks. That's a good deal. But I have seen other comps from VideoTeam which are very bad. They comps from Zane mostly are very bad and the picture quality of their normal releases is very good. The quality of the Hollywood-Video comps is very good. And they have some old stuff on their cumshot comps which I saw. [Link]
