I am truly astonished how perfect some of them are. But we don't really get to appreciate their bodies... No... Instead we get closeups of penetration, big as can be... Where the director DOES keep the rest of the body usually in frame... Just from an absolutely horrible perspective. I shouldn't be picking on this director. Really as we've all discussed, the problem is much more pervasive. Directors seem to think that we appreciate genitalia slapping together much more than the beauty of the female body. Yeah - It really gets me all hot looking at the back of a woman in cowgirl, for minutes on end, with no real swing around to see how beautiful she is, or how fucking hot her body is. No - I wanna look at penis going in an ass, and of course her back... You know I understand different people like different things in terms of positions. That's fine. But I just have a really hard time people thinking people appreciate 80% of the shots directors are using, that do not highlight the absolute perfection of some of these specimens. [Link] |

When you're shopping for a car, and really are studying its style... Do you lay on the ground, with your head near the tire, staring up at the rest of the car? When your films stop inhibiting competent men like Kid Jamaica from doing what they do best by having the Russian rumpleforeskin brothers hop in at every opportunity to flex their lip muscles, I'll complement your company. In addition, I don't know how anybody can watch a scene with Joachim Kessef's penis, which is in the shape of the letter "c", and not see their is room for improvement. I used to be impressed with a lot of Devil's material as well a Sineplex's, but it seems as though it has been run into the ground the last few years. I will be the first one to complement a scene that deserves it. If a company is obsessed with 45 degree angle close-ups, I'll be the first to point that out too. [Link] |

Going a little bit into the telephoto end of the lens shows off a woman's boobs-waist-hips ratio in a much more flattering way. This also requires a tripod, which would be a benefit, as it would eliminate the shaky distracting monkey-cam that pervades most modern porn. [Link] |

With porn you have limited budgets and a cultural gray zone that even its fans, judging from these boards, somewhat deplore and are cynical about. The word is "sketchy". But picture a Yankees fan saying he's sick of baseball. Clam's "cricket" point is right on. The next time you watch NBA/NFL/NHL on TV, notice the actual visual/conceptual variety and camera changes that are always happening. It's highly sophisticated, but also highly standardized. Lots of different people doing different jobs. It is all in service of the Game, behind which there's an intense and culturally respected industry whose tone borders on ritual worship. The Olympics?! But the Game in Porn cannot be "coitus" or "plug them holes", except to terminal virgins or dire misogynists. No one agrees what the Game is in porn, though, only that there is money to be made, and the result has been oversaturation and exhaustion. When a studio like Devil's streamlines their process to save money and to keep their crews & talent happy, it has to be a good thing. But we all see the fallout when artistic craft, a harsh mistress indeed, has not been summoned bring it to life. Anyways, for those still with me: When I was about 15, I was checking out a Playboy with Jenny McCarthy in it. She was just a naked chick then, no celebrity at all. I was paying close attention, though, boy. There was this shot of her on a couch with her head kind of hanging off it. Alluring, or "alluring"? Gravity was pulling her face toward the floor, making this incredible chick look like a stressed-out half-wit. Then I looked back at some other Playboys and noticed a version of this same shot, with different models, was in 1/3 of the spreads. In every one, the girl's face was pulled by gravity making her look idiotic. "Sheeit," I thought. "I must like this crap alot more than they do."
