It seems to be an OK, not great alternative. I wasn't impressed with other's I saw. I noticed in the "sign-up" section that they talked about promotional coupons. Anyone know where they are or know the promotion code? Suq [Link] |

no, nym media is actually 5 cheaper for 2 out at a time, I checked before joining, it's 29.99 at nym media and 34.99 at netflix.com but with the coupon i guess it would cheaper, but the good thing is with nym media, they offer you a 1.00 credit that can lower your monthly bill, for reviewing your rentals i have 8.00 in credits so far so that's an incentive i think to write an honest review of a flix. i am still wtih netdvdflix though, but i joined nym media during the crisis. I called Jim but he has yet to return my call. [Link] |

I got this from customer service at nymmedia. Feel free to use promotion code ramteid4566. This should get you 10% off your first month. Suq

I am currently with netdvdflix for $19.99 / mo for 2 out @ a time. $29.99 for the same service with nymmedia is pushing my limit, but maybe worth it if they have a large selection and can get me the dvd's I want to view with not much wait. Their site seems to be the best to navigate and find titles I want, and better selection from what I've seen from other sites. Also, it looks like they will ship to my zip, where other sites for some reason cannot. I wished netdvdflix could just get it together... It was a good bargain and I was very happy with their service until whatever it was happened. Thanks for the promo info, It will come in handy when I sign up

I got my first one from nymmedia. Nicely packaged (the DVD that is, well the actors too), a lot better than the other place sent them out.If all goes well, I'll up the ante to 2 out at a time... SuqU [Link] |

I got my first 2 from nymmedia today also. No wonder they charge a bit more becauase of the packaging. No chance of damaged cd's with all the foam and bubble wrap. I got my cd's in 2 days compared with 5 from netdvdflix. I am happy with the service so far.

Just an observation. Does anyone else notice that the website for nymMEDIA looks alot like the site that was up for NETDVDFLIX? The colors are different, but the format is extremely similar. Like I said... just an observation. [Link] |

nymmedia has been around longer than netdvdflix, so there in no connection between the two, just used a similar program for shopping. Also NY is located in New Jersey and Netdvdflix is located somewhere down south. [Link] |

i was wondering about their similar rental queing systems (netdvdflix and nymmedia) i thought they were related somehow, but the queing system for nym media is great, no problems, but the one for netdvdflix would be out of whack whenever i tried to re-arrange the dvds in an order i'd want. But it never worked and that was so frustrating. I wonder if they will ever come back, it's been about a month now since they have been off-line, they could have at least given it's members some sort of explanation, it's as if they are not coming back. I noticed the simularity in the rental que program of MYMedia and Netdvdflix too. I wondered if they were a related company. Once when I spoke to Jim at Netdvdflix, he mentioned that he thinks he may have been shut down or hacked by one of his competitors, but he didnt say who. I wonder???? May be a simularity there as well. Hmmmm? [Link] |

Get out, when did Jim say this?? That would be horrible, and here we are bashing Netdvdflix and jumping ship when we should be patient and supportive. [Link] |

It might not at all be the same site-a lot of the time some sites come from a "website in a can" type deal, where a third party comes up with the actual design and you can edit the colors and specifics of the layout and add pictures and text to make the final product what you're looking for.So...the sites might be similar because the design came from the same source, not because it was stolen, but it's difficult to say for sure! Given some of the good things I've read here I'm going to give Nymmedia a try too...I signed up for Netdvd flix on Feb. 2nd, the first day the site was back up after it was gone for awhile in January, and I never received a single DVD, and the site was unavailable a few days later when I looked for it. I just hope they don't charge my card again! [Link] |

Well I think you'll be pleased with nymmedia Itsjustme982, they have a quick turnaround time as far as getting the dvds to you, but the post office plays a major part in this also. If they charged yoru card and you didn't get full service, you can dispute the charges. I need to re-check account again. [Link] |

I received a refund today from netdvdflix and I also noticed that the return address on the envelope (which was hand written) was "MY Media" with a Dallas, TX address. That is very simular to "NymMedia". Just a simularity I noticed that may support the idea that they are somehow related or they may have tried to replicate the site by using the same software. We probably will never know. [Link] |
