This only happened AFTER the whole laptop crashed/died ("white screen of death"), and I rebooted from the system disc and everything else was fine again. I tried "zapping the PRAM." Have no other ideas what to do. Do I have to replace it? It seems like something that should be more easily fixable. [Link] |

| Sheky666 Member 100 Posts 2/01 | Posted - Jun 19 2009 : 8:04PM If it will boot off the install media run Disk Utility and check the disk for errors and repair permissions. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1417 When your machine crashed it may have corrupted the filesystem and something that is required to make the cd/dvd drive work.
