I'm going to Geneva for a few days on Wednesday - can anyone recommend some good adult DVD shops there - good hard selection, nice shops?

I noticed this old thread looking back, and thought I may as well let people know how I got on for future reference.

Through the wonders of the internet, I found that there are several adult establishments clustered near the station, centred around the rue Charles Cusin. So off I went, mid-afternoon. The area is extremely sleazy, and there are several clubs with girls hanging round outside luring you in. I could only find one shop that seemed to sell DVDs and the like - I can't remember exactly where, but I think it's on the corner of rue Sismondi and rue P-Rossi. Anyway, there's some sort of front bit, and at the back an adult section. It's extremely grotty - reminds me of the old unlicensed places in Soho. Not many people around, dirty raincoater feel - a bit of a shock when you've become accustomed to Harmony or the Soho Original Bookshop. Certainly not the European Sex Supermarket idyll that I'd imagined.

Anyway, they have quite a wide ramge of stock, both of European and American titles. I can't really judge the Euro stuff as I don't know much about it, and I don't like taking the risk of buying something I'm not sure is going to have what I want, but the US stuff was pretty disappointing - mostly titles 2 or 3 years old, and expensive (60 francs for RLD/Anabolic/etc., which is about 30 squid), but there were plenty of titles (older still!) for half-price or so. In particular, CFC, which I've been waiting for like the Holy Grail, was nowhere to be found.

I picked up Throat Gaggers 1 (hard to get good skull-fucking flicks in UK as for some reason the BBFC cuts all such material savagely) - I found it all a bit gentle: maybe the series improves with age. Also Assman #16, which I happened to notice contains a favourite of mine, Luisa de Marco (the IAFD entry doesn't mention her, or rather goes by a pseudonym, or else I'd have bought this long ago). That's a cool film, and must be one of Luisa's early scenes as she looks distinctly uncomfortable as the anal progresses - is it really so wrong to get turned on by a beautiful woman screwing her face up in discomfort?

Finally I got "Jamais dire jamais a Rocco 2", which has some good moments but like most of Rocco's films leaves me a bit cold. I think Rocco hogs the action too much: I mean, girl licks Rocco's ass, girl licks Rocco's feet, Rocco spits in girl's mouth, Rocco pisses in girl's mouth. To all of these things I say Yeeeuck. However, replace "Rocco" by "other girl" throughout and you'd have an electrifying scene. Hey ho. There are also an enormous number of IR pairings in the film, which is of no interest to me at all.

Anyway, I've drifted from the point, which is that if this is the best Geneva has to offer, maybe the super-relaxed, ultra-liberal Euro dream I have is a myth after all.

Co-incidentally, I'm just back from Switzerland myself, but not with purchasing in mind. I didn't see anything in Geneva, but there was a Beate Uhse (?) shop in Luzern that looked decent enough. That's part of a BIG chain of Euro-wide stores. I may have got the spelling wrong tho!
