Just wondering if anyone has placed an order on or after the 11/9 and is still waiting for it to arrive in the U.K?

I posted earlier re delays with an ADN shipment. I'm happy to report that I did eventually receive the DVDs after about 12 days (usually shipping time of 4 days). The package was unopened BTW.

Seems that there definitely is a backlog of mail since the WTC disaster.

Just hang in there and your order should eventually turn up.

Best Wishes

Well I just got the first part of my most recent 5-star order, about 3 days later than usual, so stuff is still getting through, albeit with some delays. I just hope the other part of the order arrives tomorrow... I always get a tad worried when they arrive on seperate days.. :/

And the rest of the order just arrived with the regular postie (the first part arrived with the parcel Van).

Well, no problems with 5-star delivery to Australia at the moment,

French Guy,
My last order from Laseredge took about 1 month to arrive, so I wouldnt worry just yet.
I think there's still a backlog to clear because of the recent tragic events which caused plains all over the world to be grounded.

Our Air Mail packages ship out through New Jersey (JFK Airport) and many of our packages were delayed due to the tragic events and they are now just getting caught up. You should see normal shipping times from now on.

Actually, I have checked with the post office and so far they have said that they have no problems with air parcels the week after the attacks but they have registered my complaint and will check on the matter.

Continuing the original topic, I had an order dispatched from fivestardvd on 21st September, Global Priority, and I've yet to see anything of it (to UK).

Usually takes 7 - 10 days. Anyone been waiting the same length of time????

Its not just porn whats going missing, In the past month i`ve had music cd`s and clothes gone missing!!! I would love to know what has happended to them. I know that HMS Customs will be cracking down on Imports and i`m fully behide that but someone some where is making a killing robbing all of our gear:(

Lie back and think of England!

Well, I don't know what you mean about being behind Customs cracking down on Imports.
But as to the other issue, if your goods have been sent out by the supplier, and you have not had a customs notice, then there is only one option - I think it is not outwith possibility that you have a dodgy postie, either he is lazy or he is nicking your gear. The Royal Mail seems to be having a lot of problems at the moment.
I think you should get on to your local sorting/delivery office and make a formal complaint if you are having a lot of stuff go astray. Are your neighbours getting their mail OK? Complain, it's the only way! Remember as long as you are not ordering anything illegal, then you are in the right and have nothing to be ashamed about so get on to the Royal Mail ASAP! Good luck!

ordered two dvd's from 5 Star which were shipped on October 2nd according to my confirmation e-mail - they still havn't arrived. I'm beginning to think they've been nicked, but lets hope its just due to backlog and tighter restrictions making things slower. I post again when
(if) they arrive.

I originally placed this topic because of concerns over the delay of ordering. After the 11th Sept, I had 2 orders outstanding which have both arrived, each took just over two weeks via Global Priority. If one did not arrive, I don't think I would report it to the post office, they would want to know what's inside? - tricky. You takes your chances when you order this kind of stuff, I always say, one lost order and that's it, no more orders, and thankfully none have gone astray yet. I personally am not going to order any dvd's for afew months while all this Anthrax shit's going off. Spend your cash on a broadband connection and download some porn for afew months, that's my advice.

Well I've placed another order with 5-star since my one just after Sep 11, this one shipped out on Oct 5 and has not arrived, it's about 3 days late so far based on normal arrival times, as my last order was.

Though nothing arrived in the morning parcel Van, which is how I'd expect this order to arrive. As always, I'll keep updating.

cheers,

Hey, don't worry yet. I received an order today from Laser's Edge, ordered on the 3rd Oct, sent airmail on the 4th, so hopefully your parcel should be with you soon.

I've found Laser's Edge orders to usually take about three weeks, while my Fivestar Orders usually take one week-8days.

I made a Laser's Edge order at the same time as my most recent 5-star, but as it's been 2 weeks now on the LE, I'm not expecting it yet. The 5-Star order on the other hand I am getting a touch worried about.

Having said that, it's actually heartening slightly to see that others have the same non-arrivals from parcels sent at around the same time as mine, and to other locations around the world. Not in the way of "sharing the sour grapes" but it leads me to think they're probably just delayed in the US (and international) postal system because of the current scares, rather than lost or stolen.

Good news all (for me anyway), and this may give you some hope.

Had two orders from fivestar. First was one disc dispatched on 20th September, other was a five disc package dispatched last Monday.

Received the five pack on Tuesday - 8 days, which is normal for me using Global Priority.

Had lost hope for the other package, when it arrived the next day!!!

-And no customs charges for either - even though the five pack was in a box!!!!!!!

Hope springs eternal

I live in Canada and Fivestar e-mailed letting me know that my order shipped via Global Priority on October 10. Today is Saturday, Oct 20 (no mail today) but if I don't see anything on Monday it will have been 12 days and still no package. Pretty pathetic, considering I live right next door to the U.S.
Is Global Priority traceable?

Once I have a tracking number, how do I got about finding out where the package is? Do they have a web site I can visit, or a phone number I can call?

The boxes -do- have a barcode on them, though I don't know if anyone actually bothers to do anything with them (ie USPS).

How long do the GMP shipments usually take to arrive in Canada for you in the past?

Canada may be right next to the US, but it only takes one overnight flight to get to Australia, or the UK, or anywhere else on the other side of the world.

Since these GPM delays are being felt by people all over, I think the problem is internal to USPS, because everything else is much the same worldwide (fast flight to country X, clear customs, local mail delivery).

Keep us updated,

It has never taken more than 6 or 7 days for a GMP package to get to me here in Canada. That is why I'm concerned.
I just got todays mail (Oct 24) and still nothing, that makes it 14 days since they shipped out to me. It does not help much either that my mail man is a lazy bum, he never buzzes up to my apartment to see if anybody is home to accept a package, he just leaves it for the mail truck to take to the post office, and then I get a slip in the mail letting me know that I have a package at the post office to pick up.
The kicker is that the postie writes on the package "did not answer, was not home", even if I was there, he just won't bother checking.
I even went to the post office yesterday to see if they had my GMP package, but they don't have anything.
5star offers to reship orders to customers as long as the customer pays for the shipping only. How long do you think I should wait before I risk another shipment, any suggestions?

It seems that we porn addicts just can't get a break!

I've been waiting 3 feck'in weeks for 3 different orders to be delivered, even though all have been sent by letter post.
( usual delivery time is 3-5 days )

I'd actually ring the local mail delivery centre and complain about this. Firstly see how receptive the manager-type is to your problem before giving your name/address, of course, until then you could be anyone in any apartment in that area.

On this note, I found a card in my mailbox when I got home just now, so I'll be off to the post office to see if it's my 5-Star order shortly. Wish me luck

Just got back from the post office and all the rest of it, there was indeed a parcel of DVDs from the states for me, my Laser's Edge order. arriving after a 3-week journey.

On the one hand this relaxes me a bit, as mail is still getting through, on the other hand, I'd have expected my GPM 5-star order to have arrived first.. Still, the mail is getting through!

And the plot thickens:

15 days and still waiting for my 5star order, but they sent me an e-mail today letting me know that they shipped a dvd out to me, the only problem is that I ordered 3 discs, and they already sent me an e-mail notification that all 3 were shipped out to me on Oct 10, but today I get an e-mail telling me they shipped me one of the discs that they already included in the order I have been waiting 2+ weeks for.
5star has me wondering if they have any clue as to what they are doing. I e-mailed them today and asked them to explain. But I have already chalked this up to a bad experience. I have only heard good things about them here, that is why I ordered from them, it was also my first order with them, and probably my last.
I'm now left wondering if the even sent the first order out to me at all. Needless to say, I'm not impressed.

I also had some problems with my second Fivestar order, months ago now. The way I see it, problems of some sort will occur with every retailer, whether it's missing parcels, faulty discs, mixups or whatever.

The real test is how they handle the problems, for me anyway, it worked out well enough that I'm still ordering from them on a regular basis.

cheers,

5star sent me an e-mail assuring me they will reship me my discs if I don't have them by Oct 31. I think some people misunderstood my post, as I am more frustrated with the postal system than I am with 5star. They have tried to answer all of my questions, and hopefully I will have my discs soon.

My package finally arrived here in Canada 20 days later, but I'm happy that I got it. US postal system is going through some tough times, but what matters is that it got here (thankfully).
