Firefox (v3.5.7 currently, but had this issue for several versions) on my Mac just flat out refuses to let me make a post here without having to completely start over on the site. If I just come on and read posts, all is well. If I reply to a post, I get the proper edit form page, hit submit and then...nothing. I'm at a blank page. If I refresh that page, I still get a blank page. I have to basically hit my back button 3 times (to get to viewing the post I was going to reply to) and then refresh THAT page to resume reading a thread. It's maddeningly frustrating. I've tried everything to fix this. I've upgraded FF, I've deleted it and reinstalled from scratch (which isn't like on Windows where I may still have residual registry settings interfering), and I've switched routers and ISP's to see if that was the problem....it persists. I don't have this issue with Safari on the Mac, just Firefox. Am I alone or does anyone else out there have this issue? I've got a similar problem with making edits to my posts which is worse but I'll reserve that for later as this one is my main one. [Link] |

They are all quite large: price search is 3.4GB, forum 2.1GB and click stream is 2.4 GB. Between 2 and 4 am EST there's a bunch of database maintenance routines that run. If one portion of the site is working but the other isn't and it's between 2 and 4am you're most likely seeing slow downs due to the locking that occurs during the nightly maintenance. We use a meta refresh to do the redirect to the forum after making a post. For some reason more restrictive browser security settings consider a meta refresh to be a potential problem. I think in IE the setting is "allow page transitions". If that's not checked IE won't do meta refreshes. [Link] |

I get the URL in the bar (pointing to an .ASP page) and a completely white screen. I have to hit my back button three times to get back to the cached version of the forum index, and then hit refresh. Then I can click back into the thread and see my post posted fine. Weird, been like this for me for over 18 months now. Just this forum, although I frequent dozens. Again, since it is a Mac, I don't have as much to worry about hidden registry left-overs or anything. I even deleted my OSX Library settings. It persists, but only on this site. Not sure why.
