I used to buy these titles from Randy West regularly, it was a good way to see the new girls in the industry, I first saw Tera Patrick in a Up and Cummers title. I'm not a big fan of Ed Powers.
Definitely miss Up & Cummers! Randy West practically invented a genre of porn... well, maybe cofounded, as he and Ed Powers started at about the same time.
Maybe I need to go back and watch a bunch of the ones that I missed along the way.
The two Dirty Debutantes that I have watched are terrible in comparison.
I wouldn't mind watching a few more of the Up and Cummers series. Randy was a pretty good host, IIRC, and the series had a natural, fun feel to it. This is far more important to me than how many ATMs and anal gapes can be squeezed into a scene.
I also liked the I Love Lesbians series for many of the same reasons.
New Sensations had a series called Video Virgins that I also enjoyed. The first 20 volumes have been released on DVD by Gentleman's Video (a generally poor company).
Sometimes I remember porn from the 90s as being a bit better than it actually was, but I would be interested in seeing if these series are as enjoyable today as they were back then.
I wouldn't pay top dollar for them, I would pick some up if they were being offered for a low price.
I add my voice to those who miss "Up and Cummers". Jenna Jameson, Jodie Moore, Tawny Roberts, Krystal Steal, Yvonne, Misty Rain, Taylor Moore, Kristi Myst (aka Pamela Sanderson) are all performers that did some of there best work in the "Up and Cummers" series. IMO Jenna Jameson never topped her scenes from this series.
I've written Randy, and told him that not having the series creates a major void in the biz. Now that he's back in the biz on a part-time basis, maybe he'll use his keen eye for new talent and produce a few more volumes of "Up and Cummers. "

Yeah I miss the series. UAC #98 with Hannah Harper, Jenna Haze, and Krystal Steal made me fans of this series and of theirs.
Ed Powers first few were good and a few mixed in but when he went to condoms and emptying it on their breasts instead of facials it started to suck really bad. Not sure what he does now though haven't seen anything above 100.
definitely better than dirty debs. nah, actually some of the scenes were really pretty good. and you had some real stars pass through the series too. plus, randy did a lot of creampie scenes, a lot of foot action. yeah, up and cummers could have been better in some areas, but it sure as hell could have been a lot worse, and it wasn't.
There was a time when I would rent four videos at a time because that was the way the local video store structured their rental fees. I would always get one Up'N'Cummers as one of the videos.
Randy was a pioneer in terms of internal cumshots. He also was a pretty good interviewer. He asked questions like "what did you do before porn" rather than "do you like older guys....do I fit that description?"
He also made a very natural and comfortable set for the girls. When you combine that with the fact that he got girls that were new to the industry, if not very first timers, he got very natural and hot scenes.
He had tons of classic scenes, but I agree that Jenna Jameson's first scenes with him were classic. I have never seen any of her Vivid stuff but after seeing the UpC scenes it did not surprise me when she became a superstar.
I always liked that Bus Stop series Ed Powers did when he'd pick up chicks off the street. It didn't look like those scenes were scripted..they seemed very real. Does anyone know if they were actual chicks just picked off the streets?
Boy those were more addictive than crack back in the day. I think a hugely underrated series. But at a certain point it gets hard to compete with the 50 other new girl lines. Also, the phenomena of the "fresh new girl" ceased to really exist once Generation Barista hit porno about 3 or 4 years ago (I think parallel to the rise of LA Direct and the arrival of RLD ...) There was no longer any of the novelty factor necessary to drive the line. But some of the hottest and fairly natural scenes ever ... hit or miss, but very worthy, even if it lacked any finesse, really.
There was mention of the Up n Cummers series elsewhere , I am looking for a particular obscure scene . Girl and her real boyfriend as I recall , at one point they were really going at it and she rolled over onto her back as she was coming , and let out a small real unintended squirt . Longshot , but what the hell .
