They appear to price match (or beat by $1, but their website is a little vague as to whether they will do it on one title per order, or one each of any titles per order. Anything else anyone has to offer on them, when you inform them of the better prices WHEN you order, do they charge for the full total then refund the difference, or do they charge you for the -adjusted- total? I'll see now if they are willing to adjust the prices on an order that consists only of titles to be price-beaten. For some reason I'm not sure if they will do it. On the other hand, their policy is the reason I'm ordering from them, so I can simply consolidate everything I'd order from other vendors into one order with them. And the price-beating policy means I can get 10 titles (and 2 free) at under the Australian customs Tax limit! I have to say, their customer service thus far has been excellent. And if they happily price-beat the stuff I've ordered I'll be ordering everything from them and singing their praises no end, both here and in rame. Jay even said he'd throw in something extra since I mentioned I'd reccomended them to a mate of mine (who it turns out is waiting until I recieve my order). But it's certainly a nice gesture, especially as it was uncalled for. I sent off my cheque 10 days ago now, registered post, and haven;t heard anything from them yet. They did tell me they'd email me as soon as it arrives, and since International postage can be surprisingly good (1 week) or utter bollocks (6-8 weeks) I'm just assuming my money is till in transit. Unfortunately for me, quite a few of the adult DVD merchants are located in my state of California. Also, I prefer stores that offer free domestic shipping with a minimum order. In the case of ADN's price match, it ends up being a wash or more expensive due to the tax and shipping factors. However, that's specific to my situation. It sounds as if it is a particularly viable option for non-US residents, especially with the low price guarantee on the DVDs. Actually for me Excalibur would be the most affordable and convenient source for the occasional purchase (one disc at a time mostly, where the shipping is $4.95), but they seem to have nothing actually in stock when I make my orders, and I have grown tired of waiting two weeks until they manage to ship the items. Also they fuck with the packaging of discs or videos they send overseas, which is kind of annoying. So for the moment my favorite seems to be DivaDee. [Link] |

Since their price beating was a major point for me, the postage I paid was US$16 for 12 DVDs. Not too bad as far as I can see. When I was first snooping around the various online shops, [url=466299]www.Dvdsxxxrated.com</A told me international shipping was $20 (I assume flat rate, since no other info was mentioned) so [url=466334]www.adultdvdnow</A isn't so bad in comparision there. I probably would have ordered from him if he hadn;t lost my email at the time. As far as shipping costs go, yes, they are rather pricey, but, usually ordering a maximum of 6 discs at a time it generally works out pretty reasonable considering that if I ordered from elsewhere I'd have a lovely collection of customs seizures notices and a proctological examination by HMC&E. The only gripe I have about them is that their range is not as wide as Adultdvdempire or fivestar. I've been waiting for them to get titles like "Phoenix Rising" and "Penetrator 2" which have been out for ages. That aside, the company gets a "thumbs up" from me. By the way, if you frequent the uk.media.dvd NG, have you noticed that they always get a Flaming whenever they post to the group. | scipio Senior Member 1901 Posts 2/00 |  Posted - Mar 27 2000 : 8:42PMI'd asked Jay to remove the DVDs from their cases, (to avoid customs' looking for invoices and trying to charge me duty/tax rather than worrying about them seizing them, 'cos it's legal to bring in porn for your own use (not child/beast/poop/etc). Because of this, they were sent in Global Priority Envelopes that simply flew past customs, as they're treated as regular mail/letters. This sounds like it could be relevent for Reason, who was also concerned about import taxes and Global Priority Mail. Also, the sender details were Jay's, with no mention of even a business name, which is especially ace when trying to avoid import extortion (tax). As Pasky pointed out, they sometimes don't have stock of some specific titles, but the way I see it, there's always something else that I'm after. I've got a want list as long as my arm... Between the speedy shipping, the price beating and the excellent customer service, I can't see myself ordering from anywhere else. I'm one happy chappy. cheers, scipio [Link] |
